Hc1 vs hc2 iowait

Unread post by fbleagh » Tue Feb 13, 2018 10:39 am

I have 2 each of the hc-1 and the new hc2, and the hc1s consistently have higher iowait.

All nodes are running the xu4 Ubuntu 16.04 image and are using the same model of sd card. I've even tried a dist-update and kernel update on the hc1s with no luck.

Is there anything else I can try?

Hc1 kernel: Linux odroid1 4.14.18-105 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 9 15:12:30 UTC 2018 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux
Hc2 kernel: Linux odroid4 4.14.5-92 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 11 15:48:15 UTC 2017 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux

Iowait avg on:
hc1 = 6%,
hc2 = <1%

Do you mean the iowait on SDcard? or SATA storage?
Can you swap the SD card?

BTW, HC1 and HC2 have the exactly same hardware design except for 12Volt power rails.
So their performance must be identical.

Sd card. Is there anything else I can check?

Re hardware, yeah that's what I thought.

Swap the SD cards and let me know the result.

BTW, did you mean Kernel 4.14.18 is slower than 4.14.5?
