Q about Smart Power2

Unread post by Strykar » Fri Mar 22, 2019 4:30 am

I'm wondering if I could configure the Smart Power to automagically switch off the connected Cloudshell2 in case of a power cut. Let me explain...

Imagine this scenario, the Smart power is connected to a power socket which has a dumb UPS connected to it. The UPS is unable to generate an interrupt to inform of AC power loss.
However, I can setup a wifi access point just for the Smart Power which is not connected to any power backup, so in case of a power cut, the wifi AP will not be seen/connected to by the Smart Power.

Can I program the Smart power to turn off the Cloudshell2 after x mins of losing wifi?
This would be my cheap way of telling the Smart power there's a power cut and to turn off the CS2 unless the wifi AP comes back on.

Because Smart Power 2 output voltage is limited at 5.3Volt, you can't use it with CloudShell2.

Anyway, you can implement that feature since the firmware source code is available for your tinkering.
