Unread postby HiDeHo » Wed Feb 07, 2018 8:51 am

Hi all we know that some time ago Odroid officially stopped supporting the U series of devices. so what does this mean for the future of U2 and U3?
I have created this post so we can share what the current community led Operating systems, apps etc are still being created and maintained for this old devices.
I found my old U# and currently have a U3 with the latest official Ubuntu os that was officially supportetd which was baised on Ubuntu 14.04 with LXDE as its desktop. (cant remember what the version number was). what is the future of this cool little computer.

what are people currently using there Odroid U2/U3 for?
is there any active community development going on?
What new OS have been created by the community that are active and available??

if you have any answers, links, questions or info you would like to share that would be great
I appreciate all who take the time to contribute to improve and help make things better for all.

You can find Ubuntu 16.04 image in this link.
https://odroid.in/ubuntu_16.04lts/
The file name is ubuntu-16.04-mate-odroid-u2u3-20160920.img.xz
It was based on the Mate DE.
But there was a WiFi connection issue we couldn't resolve.

I strongly recommend using meveric's Debian or OGST images.
He is still adding a lot of great items.
