Flash Memory Compatibility

Unread postby vonah001 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 6:44 am

Don't really know where to put this topic, but does anyone know if all flash memory cards are compatible with all ODROID boards? For example let's say I buy a flash memory card for the XU3. I then decide I don't want to use it on the XU3 anymore and would like to burn an image of Lubuntu for ODROID-U3 onto it. Will the resulting flash card work on the U3 or is there also something board-specific in each flash memory card?

Not the micro SD cards, but the eMMC cards. Are they all compatible with all boards? Why are they labeled for specific computers, is it because they are hardware specific or is that just to represent the image loaded on it?

If you change the boot loader in the hidden partition of eMMC, it works with other boards.

Writing the boot loader for the U3.

We also call it "Recovery Process".
