[SOLVED] Another unbootable U3

Hello guys,

I'm running out of ideas here. Some time ago my Odroid failed to boot. Back then I've tried almost anything and gave-up at some point. Recently I had some time and tried to connect it to UART cable I just made. Now I got "dmesg", but I don't see any fatal issues there :( Can anyone help please?

Below is last try, whole serial capture (4 boot attempts) via pastebin*. I'm running 12.04.02 ubuntu image, checked img.xz archive and eMMC content using this method. Everything seems ok :(

Did you flash "ubuntu-14.04.2lts-lubuntu-odroid-u-20150224.img"?

Which power supply do you use? The boot process seems to restart a few times due to insufficient power supply.
Which USB devices are connected?

1) yes, that img

2) 5V/3A (KSAFD0500300W1UV) <- I'll connect to laboratory PSU, to outrule power source as an issue

3) I've rebooted device myself, booting at some point stopped and dim blue led went off. I've started again just to make sure I'll have more boots and as much messages as I can (some boots write less messages, some more)

Please measure the voltage on 5V rail on the expansion connector with a DMM to make sure the power supply condition.

I was using input connector to measure voltage level and it seemed at some point it got below 5V. So I've used laboratory PSU set to 5V/2A and i got more messages. Actually it even got to the point where something was displayed via HDMI :o

Change the laboratory PSU voltage to 5.3Volt carefully.

Did you remove the eMMC card when you tried a MicroSD card?

If you can access a Windows PC, please try it with 7-zip and our modified Win32DiskImager with "VERIFY" button.

Sorry for late answer, this indeed helped and I'm able to boot my U3 up! Maybe there were more issues involved, but running 5.3V PSU with SD card works. Surprise here is that old PSU I was using for almost a year (up-time) doesn't do it anymore. I wouldn't imagine this could be an issue :cry:

Thank you for the confirmation. :D

The old PSU DC power cable or DC-jack might cause the voltage drop when U3 needs more power in the boot process.

I had this issue too, despite trying a different PSU. However, changing the SD card solved the problem, at least for now.
