A white one, an "usual" one not cheap and nor expensive, bought ten years ago for this purpose.

Maybe the need to replace thermal paste over time depends on the quality of a paste.
Certainly it's a good idea to apply a new layer if a heatsink was removed for any reason, otherwise a lot of air will be trapped.
Thanks for your measurements. Now you can test the same SBC when lying flat and standing upright like I did with M1.
