Anyone using this on the U3?
http://www.muktware.com/2014/03/fat-dog ... -arm/22723
looks interesting. and I know that simplicity media which is also puppy based runs XBMC well.
When I get some time think I will try it out.

Thanks

Yea I am hoping to hear from someone that has tried XBMC on this image.
I have used Simplicity Media,on a desktop PC, which is puppy with XBMC and it works nicely.
Right now I am working with Gamestation on my sd card so don't have anything to try Fat Dog on yet.
Please let me know what your experience is when you get your U3.

Thanks
Jon

well blagged an adapter from a neighbour and now have my U3 up and running with fatdog arm beta1

I'm using the wifi dongle from hardkernel which was found and installed, a little juggling with the settings of my tv to sort the picture from over-scanning

so far really impressed with the OS weighing in at just 270Mb, the only gripe so far is the web browser is only seamonkey at present

I had originally purchased to enable streaming shows from the internet to the tv but this is dodgy at the mo, not sure if it's the browser or the website seeing the mobile phone chipset which is stopping the playback

I had a little trouble getting fatdog to boot but I didn't follow the install instructions correctly so my own fault, second time round only took about 2 minutes so simple when you know how!!

I made the mistake of not ordering the emmc module and although I'm using a class 10 microsd it could be quicker, if anybody from the uk is planning an order please let me know so I can tack on an emmc (obviously will be paying!!) to the order

If that would be the case, even though highly implausible, then you can always change the default user agent.

hey liquid

seems to be a flash-player problem for the streaming, when trying to view bbc news pages it defaults to m.bbc.co.uk

just had a quick spin of robroy's ubuntu-12.11 mix and managed to get the streaming to work though it is too choppy to watch even when fully buffered

if anybody can point me to a build that can stream thedarewall adequately, please let me know

Hello the latest image XBMC For (X/X2/U2/U3) Updated 20140408 Here is good for me in 720p (1080p is still choppy).
With a little overclocking
Code: Select all
sudo su
echo 1920000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

(Only works till reboot search the forum for full details)
and you may need a fan as without one bbc hd sent the temps up to 78C

BBC iplayer HD and youtube both work in chrome and I just tried the dare wall and it was smooth enough

Good luck
Steve

Where is the tutorial you followed and how did you get it working. my odroid is sitting here without an os. because i want to try puppy and it has failed several times.

THis puppy linux immage does not follow the odroid prociedure with an .img file to make it work like other odroid os. :(

Are the instructions any different for installing to an eMMC card? I haven't found anything that specifically addresses this.

Just found this on the Puppy Linux Forum. Haven't tried it yet, but I am a bit unclear as to the process of setting up the partitions on the eMMC card. Has anyone tried this?

Specific instructions on partitioning the card would be helpful. All the OS's that I have installed use an .img file & the drive automatically formats during the first boot. FatDog OS looks like the install process is designed to be simple in theory, but i'm struggling in practice!!?
