check an old thread of mine with direct patches for CM (it was CM10 that I built back then)
to add mouse right-click = back and power button.
also you might want to raise GPU to 640mhz :)

So I've made some tests with this ROM and my U3.

Bluetooth is working !! (not in the ODROID ROM).

Wifi is not working (it does with last ODROID ROM - they had to add "0bda:817a" in the list because it wasn't inside).

GPS is not working unless I set the baud rate to 4800 (it was connected on ttyUSB0 with nothing else connected).

My touchscreen doesn't work well (it does with last ODROID ROM, but only in single touch mode - but this is not a big deal). It's a Chalkboard Electronics 7".

My 3G dongle doesn't really work but it wasn't also with ODROID ROM. The problem here is that I have USB0,1, 2 and 3 used by my key. I can see my network and there is a nice signal but it doesn't connect to the data (3G).
The internal SD is normaly desactivated (I can't see it in Windows).
But I have a possibility to put an external SD card in this dongle, maybe it causes trouble ?

Wifi - added 817a.
Touchscreen - added Chalkboard Electronics 7" open frame vid/pid to hid-multitouch (if you are have a black frame version please post here your vid/pid)
3G- not all dongles working with our ril. We tested only Huawei E173, E180.

3G- not all dongles working with our ril. We tested only Huawei E173, E180.

Yes I read that on the forum :).

But do you now if there is a possibility to tell Android to check another ttyUSB to connect ?
As the modem is known under Android maybe it does not connect on the right ttyUSB for the Data connection ? I don't really know ho it works, just asking :).
My dongle is recognized as a modem if I do a "dmesg".

And about Huawei E173, if I look on Internet there is 2 types, the E173u-1 and E173u-2. Is there any difference or both will work ?

And another question : is there any way in Android to set the ttyUSB number for a device ?
For example device with ID xxxx connect to ttyUSB6 ?

Thanks for your ROM :).

Just go into the ODROID update app, click on get the latest version, then change the http address by the one given by voodik.
Then extract and install.
I think you need to check both format checkbox but I'm not sure.

Please upload your full logcat and dmesg to http://pastebin.com/ and post link here

And another question : is there any way in Android to fix the ttyUSB number for a device ?

For that case i loading kernel modules in rotation, first is loading USB Dongle, after that usb-serial kernel modules. In that case our modems get ttyUSB0-3 nodes which needed by our ril.

bkmz
Can you add support usb dac??

This build is using hardkernel audio lib, which already have a USB DAC support, i can't test it because don't have a hardware, if it doesn't work post logs.

I think you need to check both format checkbox but I'm not sure.

Format userdata only.

OMG ZTE, i have two ZTE dongles and both doesn't work.
As can i see, the rill brings correct ttyUSB3 node, because for your modem ttyUSB3 is pppchanel (from google). But hardcoded into ril AT commands can't bring up ppp connections.
I see two ways.
1 - easy way - Get the Huawei modem :-D
2 - Hard way - Find proper AT commands for your ZTE modem, edit /system/etc/ppp/call-pppd script to use static AT commands for your modem.
Here is command for huawei modems, i can run this command from adb shell and get ppp connection to up
Code: Select all
/etc/ppp/call-pppd "/dev/ttyUSB0 115200" "novj" "" "" "/system/bin/chat -v -s -S TIMEOUT 25 ABORT 'BUSY' ABORT 'ERROR' ABORT '+CME ERROR:' '' AT '' ATH0 ''  ATDT*99# CONNECT" "/system/bin/chat -v -s -S ABORT 'BUSY' ABORT 'ERROR' ABORT '+CME ERROR:' '' +++ATH0"

Here is people who can get to work dongle like yours.

Very great job with the rom. Loving it.

Sadly, I still had no luck with my ZTE MF691 which I would very much prefer over 3G only dongle.
With CDROM enabled, it is listed as 19D2:1201 and switched to 19D2:1203 with usb_modeswitch.
With CDROM disabled, it shows up as 19D2:1202. And I am not sure if it is the default or already switched.
In either situation, /dev/ttyACM0/1 show up.

Looking at the logcat, I recal seeing messages that device is not found in the table. How hard would it be to add it to the table?

Not Working:
- WiFi USB ALLNET ALL0234NanoV2 [148f:5370]
- Bluetooth USB LogiLink BT0007A [1131:1004]
- 3G USB ZTE K3806-Z [19d2:1014]

At every boot Android asks me to get su privileges at ODROID Utility.

This is development platform, if you want to get everything to work out from the box buy tablet or smartphone.

1. Wifi will be fixed in next build.
2. For Bluetooth edit the last line of /system/ueventd.odroidu.rc fille to proper BUS/Device of your USB Dongle.
3. logs logs logs ...

Su privileges > sellect "Remember choice forever" before Allow or Deny

It's in there under the last option. Can't recall what it's called, just below wifi/Bluetooth, and then look at bottom again.

Keep calm...

if you did not want people to say what does not work, you should not publish an alpha..

however, my goal was to let you know what was wrong to help improve this Android version.

I am calm :)

But i can't help you without debug information. If you read forum, you can see all people with ZTE modems have a problems :)
And if you want to get it work, you need do some debugging, at least send me some debug information ... I don't have a all your custom hardware, and i can't test it.

Unfortunately we don't have a Ethernet settings, i tried to port it, but it doesn't work wit CM framework. You need to use DHCP for Ethernet.

Thanks ! I think I'm just gonna try the second solution "for the fun".
And if I can't make it works I would do the first :D ! About the Huawei E173, do you know if there is only one version that could work ? I've seen for example a 173u-1 and 173u-2 ?!

Thanks again for your ROM.

And just a question for my knowledge.

I have a GPS app (Tomtom) that doesn't work with the Official ODROID Rom but it does with yours (it wasn't able to find the GPS, even if every other GPS apps were working). Do you know if there is a difference about GPS between your CM Rom and the official one ?

Right decision ! )))

No, i don't know which version is works, mine is E180. Just for debugging i tried tu use my ZTE MF667, and surprised, its works without any modification...

About GPS HAL, Odroid BSP is using its GPS HAL, in our build i using proprietary GPS hal found in the internet. This hal is patched with brainy people, and works with usb gps modules very well.
You can easy replace it in BSP. Just remove all gps hal modules in bsp
Code: Select all
rm -fr /system/lib/hw/gps.*.so

And put our module to there
Code: Select all
adb push /system/lib/hw/gps.default.so

also i created init script
Code: Select all
/system/etc/init.gps.sh

This script is getting the GPS serial speed from build.prop an setting it when booting Android.

Yes I already changed your build.prop to change the ttyUSB number (it is 4 for my GPS).

Thanks :).

So yours is saying its connected to ttyUSB3 and the reciever speed is 4800? Mine is also 4800 but connected to ttyUSB0 should I change it to ttyUSB0?
EDIT: changed it to ttyUSB0 now working no need for extra app to provide data:) Thanks heaps

Yes you need change it to ttyUSB0
If you don't using USB 3G Dongle also comment out this lines in build.prop
Code: Select all
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so
ril.function.dataonly=1

Probably ril library using your GPS node and it busy for GPS HAL.

:D

I followed your indication for the bluetooth, but it works only if I plug it after boot and sometimes doesn't work either.
I use "ls /dev/usb*" command to find the BUS/Device, it's correct?

Another thing: why the fan is frequently on when Odroid is on but does nothing?

Thanks

No this wrong way.
1. Plug all your usb hardware.
2. restart the board.
3. after restart in adb shell type "lsusb" command
4. You can see all your connected usb devices with bus and device id -s
5. Find your Bluetooth vid/pid in the list.
6. change last line of the ueventd.oroidu.rc according results from lsusb.

note: If you connect other usb devices after this procedure you need to check lsusb again. Maybe you get other ids.

About cooler, i think next build will be colder ;)
