x2goserver trusty packages / debs

Unread post by gripped » Wed Nov 19, 2014 4:29 am

Quite a few times , on this forum, I've extolled the virtues of x2go over vnc. I use it a lot now.
I flashed the official Trusty image for my U3 today to test something (I usually tend to use Arch) and was surprised to find that only x2goclient is in the repo's.

x2goserver requires a ppa and the packages are only x86. No arm.

Several times I've advised people to use a solution which is not readily available

So I've built the packages on the ppa for armhf.
http://odroidxu.leeharris.me.uk/x2go-tr ... mhf.tar.xz

extract and then

Code: Select all

cd x2go-trusty-armhf
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
sudo apt-get -f install
should do the trick.

If you want to build it yourself

Code: Select all

bzr branch lp:~x2go/x2go/nx-libs_build-main
bzr branch lp:~x2go/x2go/x2goserver_build-main
in each directory created

Code: Select all

dpkg-buildpackage -b -d -j5
The binaries should work on other odroids as well as the u3

I failed to build nx-libs_build_main.

I wonder if build process will install dependent library automatically.

Hi, I think we share similar hardware, as I have a Banana Pi. I'm currently running Lubuntu, and only found your packages for ARM. I installed them, but somehow the authentication process fails. is there anyway I can follow the logs? So far I only found entreis at /var/log/auth.log, but they're not the most specific as to what's going on.

This is what I get on the client:
Info: Using ZLIB stream compression 4/4.
Info: No suitable cache file found.
Info: Forwarding X11 connections to display ':0'.
Session: Session started at 'Tue Oct 13 12:28:50 2015'.
Warning: Protocol mismatch or no X authentication data.
Session: Terminating session at 'Tue Oct 13 12:28:54 2015'.
Info: Your session was closed before reaching a usable state.
Info: This can be due to the local X server refusing access to the client.
Info: Please check authorization provided by the remote X application.
Session: Session terminated at 'Tue Oct 13 12:28:54 2015'.
If I attempt to connect again, I can see the suspended previous LXDE session. If I try to start a new one, it will fail just the same. If I try to connect to one of the corpses, I get a pop up saying Connection failed. ERROR: Failed to suspend session with ID: timonoj-blahblah.

Thanks!

May be not your case, in fact isn't mine either, but on another machine that I tried before I had to change the connection string for lxde on lubuntu, it was something like this

X2Go: Custom Desktop

lxsession -e LXDE -s Lubuntu

I hope it helps

Also the packages I made are are almost a year old. I'd advise using the instructions I posted to make new ones and see if that helps ?

Hi, I've recently used the steps provided by @gripped to compile those files on my odrobian setup, here they are if some one want to make use of them https://mega.nz/#F!wMl1AAzR!w4jBNgla9JtxrlrP5eGCFg

I'll look for the specific packages needed to install in order to make the compilation process successful and post it here later
