set root to USB thumb drive

Unread postby ksc91u » Tue Aug 15, 2017 11:31 am

I try to set root = UUID= xxxx in my boot.txt and make to boot.src

my boot.txt like this

Code: Select all
boot.scr 1080p
setenv initrd_high "0xffffffff"
setenv fdt_high "0xffffffff"
setenv drm_video_mode "HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60"
setenv bootcmd "fatload mmc 0:1 0x40008000 zImage; fatload mmc 0:1 0x42000000 uInitrd; bootm 0x40008000 0x42000000"
setenv bootargs "console=tty1 console=ttySAC1,115200n8 video=${drm_video_mode} root=UUID=7728c4c4-9cd5-40b2-a958-eca280dee719 rootwait ro verbose mem=2047M"
boot

and

Code: Select all
mkimage -A arm -T script -C none -n "boot.scr for ODROID" -d boot.txt boot.scr

but my /proc/cmdline still unchanged

Code: Select all
cat /proc/cmdline
console=tty1 console=ttySAC1,115200 mem=2047M root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootfstype=ext4 rootwait console=ttySAC1,115200n8

is that because my extra line
Code: Select all
boot.scr 1080p

in boot.txt ? I remove that line but cmdline still unchanged

make sure you're editing the correct file.
On the Ubuntu image it's not under /boot/ but under /media/boot/

Check out the Games and Emulators section to find some of my work or check the files in my repository to find the software i build for ODROIDs.
