ODROID Magazine December 2019 (Mobile Workstation)

Unread post by robroy » Wed Dec 11, 2019 8:15 am

As the end of this year, and decade, approaches we have a terrific ODROID Magazine issue for you all to celebrate with!  In this month's issue, we have a great title article that covers creating your very own ODROID powered mobile workstation made. If you're still in the DIY mindset, ameriDROID wrote a fantastic guide of setting-up your own private NAS. For those privacy-focused ODROIDians out there, Bo from Ameridroid goes over the process of creating your own video surveillance. All this and more is available in this month's issue.

Neural Compute Stick Package
Although, these instructions were written for the
ODROID-C2*, the steps should be similar for other
ARM*64 SBCs such as ODROID-XU4 as long as your
environment is using a 64-bit operating system.
Really?? :D
Maybe it should be correct for Odroid N2....

XU4/cloudshell/32GB eMMC/1TB HDD
C2/VU7+/16GB eMMC/Wifi 4/BT
XU3-lite - with broken PMIC - anybody could help? :D

Glad to see that you were able to use some of our articles!

One correction: The author of "Protect Your Privacy: Why You Should Probably Make Your Own Home Automation Devices" was Bo Lechnowsky, not Miguel Alatorre.

Many other great articles in this issue as well! We especially like the ones on using the Intel NCS2 and how to fix your own N2. The H2 BladeCenter is also really cool.

I admit, for that article I'd love to see its follow-up - acually building the smart doorbell.

And one funny thing - the part list in figure 2 is pretty random, but it would be awesome to host a creativity contest where you hand out a random assortment of parts and ask people to build something from them... :)
