Re: ODROID XU
I could find only very old 14.04 images for the XU only.
XFCE desktop : https://odroid.in/ubuntu_14.04lts/ubunt ... 714.img.xz

Re: ODROID XU
Sorry for not answering earlier - I haven't been here for a while.
I still have a 16.04-image from this thread:

Please confirm that you still want it - my upload sucks and it's 3.7 GB big, so I don't want to waste time/bandwidth. It's a Kodi-centered image and it doesn't come with a desktop, but it might still be possible to get a rudimentary Wayland installation by building/using libhybris and the Android graphics stack. @memeka and others did so at the time and I was able to follow their steps for myself, but it was a pain then and as you might need a specific combination of libraries etc., some stuff might be hard to obtain these days. Bitrot might also be a problem. To be frank: Don't do it. It's a painful process and the result is rather a proof of concept than a desktop ready for daily use in 2022.
If you are happy with a headless system, check out Arch. They offer XU-images with an up-to-date mainline kernel, but there's no support for neither graphics acceleration nor HDMI. USB3 works though. If you prefer Ubuntu, you can still use the Arch image as a starting point for installing more recent versions of Ubuntu via debootstrap.
