Libcec for kodi 15.0 is working if you use libcec Version 3 but kodi 14.2 isnt working with this Version. Saddly Android isnt able to use different versions at the same time (hope im right).

So i think you should switch to libcec 3 as soon as kodi 15 has left RC.

Or habe somebody an idea how to use both at the same time

Yes i know about this. I already ported libcec 3.3.0 and waiting for stable version of Kodi 15.0.
When it available i test it some time, and if no issues/bugs found i switch to 3.3.0 version of libcec in my builds.
Yesterday i make some test and sometimes touch does not work properly, sometimes no sound, it's not stable for now.
Anyway thank you for your help, for tips and for point me to right direction :)

add this lines to /system/build.prop

Code: Select all

persist.demo.hdmirotation=landscape
ro.sf.hwrotation=0
Reboot odroid
After that open Utility app and set portrait mode.
@voodik
Thank you very much, it worked like a charm! Does this work with al CM releases where the portrait mode can't be properly set by the odroid utility?

Well, I don't know what I do wrong but no matter what I just can't change display resolution at all either setting it through the app nor manually in boot.ini.

As you see it's set to 1080p but my monitor receive 720p but it once worked with 1080p but don't remember who and why, it's seems like boot.ini is being ignored

EDIT: ok, my fault. I copied my entire 8GB microSD (device mode, complete image) to a faster 32 GB microSD, after that I resized the last fat32 partition to the last unused sector. And something happened wrong there, I think, u-boot didn't recognized the fat32 partition --> didn't found boot.ini.
Solution: did backup of the fat32 data, deleted and recreated partition with gparted, copied data back and FINALLY 1080p!

Does this version also have the updated eMMC device driver for eMMC 5.0 compatibility?

I tried to update my Odroid-XU to CM-12.1, but it didn't boot.

EDIT: Seems like same bug as I had with CM-11 (until you fixed it) with eMMC 5.0 card?

I like to use a cdrom drive on android, and as this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1318784) say it should be possible with the right kernelmodul.

I havent set up the whole buildtools to add it by my own fast. So i would ask if it could be added by you or must i recompile the kernel by my own?

Android volume manager does not support ISO9660 or UDF filesystems and this filesystems cannot mount automatically.
If you need a such things setup kernel environment and build custom kernel for you.

just to confirm, @voodik - currently you're using libcec 3.2 and it works with kodi 14?

PS: can I send you some kernel patch to add? it adds spidev.. also can you compile libboblight (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=116331)?

Kodi 14.2 is using libcec.so.2 (with is included in voodiks build)
Kodi 15 is using libcec.so.3 (voodik will switch to this Version if kodi 15 is realesed)

If you install the wrong Version kodi is crashing on startup

@voodik

UDF and iso9660 should be posible to add to vold but i understand that this is not your business. I think if i have to much sparetime i will try it.

I confirm CEC works perfectly with Kodi 14.2, but crashes at startup with 15 rc2. The stable version of 15 just was released, so I'm looking forward to a final build! I have majority running 15 rc2 and voodiks older build, and one with 14.2 and latest voodiks build. Issue is they have two separate databases for MySQL, aw well. Voodiks, you rock, thank you!

as you can see, i disconnected my monitor once and plugged it back, just to be sure that these lines at the and start are produced by the monitor.
The monitor is a Samsung T24C350EW, HDMI-CEC works in Kodi 14.2 fine, (except that if I plugged it in HDMI 2, Anynet(CEC) is activated for HDMI Port1, if plugged in port 1 everything works fine)

Sometimes my odroid-xu won't show anything after boot on the screen except some flashing frames every 5-10 sec, but it's booted and even ADB over USB works. Unfortunately, I haven't another monitor to proof if my monitor is the problem or not.

This is proprietary lib spam, ignore it.

In next version you can use other HDMI ports by setting android property.
Sometimes my odroid-xu won't show anything after boot
How long you wait after boot, in this version we have a bug, if device not properly booted android rebuilds dalvik-cache (5-10 mins). The issue will be fixed in next version.

Also i created Android native HAL CEC lib, i think soon it will be available for XU, and you can use CEC not only in Kodi.

Oh, ok, but it's still getting on my nerves if i wanna check the log

And i was already wondering why it's take so long sometimes to boot, even though i using a 32GB Class 10 SD card.

Yeah! Я уже с нетерпением жду следующее обновления!
Is it then possible to navigate Android with the arrow keys on my TV remote control like a a xbox 360 controller?

Yes you can navigate android via your TV remote dpad, but unfortunately not all android apps is optimized for controlling via dpad.

Next question towarisch:

USB mass storages devices working fine, no matter if it's a fat32 microSD through microSD USB adapter, usb thumb drive or NTFS USB HDD's. I can all mount them via terminal, but most of the devices don't auto mount
I'm planning to gift my odroidxu to my parents so they can youse it with kodi as a multimedia android pc. I can't expect that they can use commands, so an auto mount solution is needed. And no, stickmount by chainfire (or simular apps) won't work most of the time, unfortunately

From one one day to another my odroidxu shows now nothing on my screen, no matter how long I wait, how often I reboot, my screen says Signal is there, but no picture, then for some frames the screen flashes up white, after that it turns back to black and then "No signal". It's repeating infinitely. But adb works and I managed to get logcat's:

Logcat level verbose: http://pastebin.com/YN3rbx8i
Logcat level warning: http://pastebin.com/AtHFSrxs

I am at my wit's end with this problem and I hope I have other alternative then just reflash my whole microSD card.
Again, I didn't touched anything, just booted once, surfed a bit in the Internet, played some emulator, shuted down and that's all...

Flash only system.img via fastboot, you don't loose your data. Only reinstall gapps after flash.
I think some system files damaged.

try
adb reboot fastboot
check device manager for a new devices, manually install "Android bootloader interface" drivers from google sdk.
check for fastboot devices via
fastboot devices
flash system.img from update.zip via

ehm, why does the xbox one controller usb cable fuck up the odroid if the cable is connected to the odroid and to a pc? If it's plugged in there's no way hdmi getting signal. I find that out after I flashed the sd self installer of 4.4.2 android on a brand new microsd. If I boot up with this usb cable plugged in I see some very strange logcat entrys. If I plug then HDMI in, the odroid crashes... How a simple cable can fuck with you over many days - i thought it's just a normal micro usb cable like every other cables.... I will check now if all bugs and issues from the last days are produced by the cable

EDIT: sry for being rude,but it took me a long time to figure out that hdmi signal is getting very easily interfered by usb devices, that was the root of all evil, I guess. In another post in the C1 section said someone to buy a better hdmi cable or connect monitor/tv and the odroid with a micro usb cable... The odroidxu is now stable, for now...

It's a new one bought from a official reseller of odroids whos said this psu works with the xu. I measured the voltage of it, constantly 5V by 3,5A (tested with many different devices simultaniously)
the xu only consume under full load less then 5W, so the PSU can't be the problem, I think. But maybe:

If the PSU is not plugged in, but HDMi and the TV is on, I see that the red led is flash very weak. does this hdmi voltage interfere the board?

hard to imagine, right know I unplugged every device that can provide voltage (besides rtc battery) and plugged psu, then everything else - started even without rebuilding dalvik-cache, right know it's running a antutu stability test but I'm confident that it passes. You know, the only problem I got is with booting, after booting succesfull, it works most of the time bug free. Has this still something to do with hardware damage?

EDIT: Antutu stress test passed without error. I forgot to mention it that i have by the way two more grafik glitches: The on is that the whole user interface of android look like it has not vsync on, but it's not typical tearing, hard to explain. The other glitch is that the hdmi signal drops sometimes for some frames and screen turns black and immediately after it comes back. happens on the launcher, chrome etc. BUT not even once in games or this not eben in the antutu benchmark

According your logs your HDMI device always flapping.

Code: Select all

I/DisplayManagerService( 4890): Display device added: DisplayDeviceInfo{"HDMI-Bildschirm": uniqueId="local:1", 1920 x 1080, 60.000004 fps, supportedRefreshRates [60.000004, 60.000004], density 320, 320.0 x 320.0 dpi, appVsyncOff 0, presDeadline 17666666, touch EXTERNAL, rotation 0, type HDMI, state UNKNOWN, FLAG_SECURE, FLAG_SUPPORTS_PROTECTED_BUFFERS, FLAG_PRESENTATION}
I/hwcomposer( 4669): HDMI Resolution changed to 1080x1920
I/DisplayManagerService( 4890): Display device removed: DisplayDeviceInfo{"HDMI-Bildschirm": uniqueId="local:1", 1920 x 1080, 60.000004 fps, supportedRefreshRates [60.000004, 60.000004], density 320, 320.0 x 320.0 dpi, appVsyncOff 0, presDeadline 17666666, touch EXTERNAL, rotation 0, type HDMI, state UNKNOWN, FLAG_SECURE, FLAG_SUPPORTS_PROTECTED_BUFFERS, FLAG_PRESENTATION}
Check with other monitor/tv, check for HDMI connector bad connect, maybe microhdmi connector on the board is damaged .

Hi voodik!

Can you make new version with fixed EMMC5.0? and Libcec for Kodi 15?

I would also appreciate for EMMC installer image with bigger /data partition. I think 8gb would be great? (Most of the phones has this size...)

Most of the phones have a emulated sdcard partition which uses /data partition space. I cant implement emulated partition because people is using sdcards/emmc with different sizes.
Also we can't have a 8GB data partition because lot of people useing 8GB emmc, i think maximum 3-4 GB for /data partition.

Most people using the odroid don't need such a large /sdcard partition, most of them don't save much data on it, but the /data partition with 1GB is to small, I already have to use App2SD

Hmmm... could it be possible for installer to use emulated /data partition and use all of the EMMC space? Or make 8gb, 16gb and 32gb data.img files and user could choose from them?

Thank you voodik,
I' m running your piece of software on my board since february ..... it's a piece of cake. Recently I wanted to switch from ethernet to wifi and purchased the WiFi Module 4 (MediaTek(Ralink) RT5572N chipset). According to your post I changed the build.prop to

Code: Select all

wlan.modname=rt2800usb
The UI now recognizes that there is a wifi dongle attached but no Networks show up. I tried to set

Code: Select all

ro.hardkernel.wifi2=true
but that won't work either. Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks
