@rooted - the pins seem to be too close to each other for my skill...
Thanks for the suggestion, @zyssai! I've tested with a fan connector for xu4 and it fits tightly (on two pins). I'll order the 5 pin variant and solder dupont female connectors on the other end...

With a header like that you would at least have several chances without any risk but yeah it's definitely small.
A pre-wired plug would be ideal.

@mctom sadly the local electronics shops are far away, so I'm not a regular. It's cheaper to order from Aliexpress than from local shops

That's often the case unfortunately. If you only need 4 pins there is a 4pin variant on the AliExpress link.
Edit: sorry, I saw 4pin only on your board, but there is 5.

Or, you could go the budget route. Remove the plug and solder half of a Dupont jumper right into it to break it out to wires.

Re: Off Topic Banter
Today, there is a presidential election in my country.
This election is very critical for us, we are very close to destroying a dictator with elections.
We need prayers, good wishes and positive energies of all beautiful people.
May goodness, brotherhood, peace and democracy win.

I think it works, it always gets handled when I report spam.
I will say on a couple of forums I moderate it does nothing, one being in a professional environment
Well technically it does something but I don't get notifications which makes it useless.

Thankfully bots are the sole reason to moderate this forum... When we misbehave, @odroid threatens us the next ODROID will be Z80-based

Re: Off Topic Banter
Not really. All four of those chips were actually ordered for my colleague from my past (and also current) job. It was a part of a bigger order back then.
Back then I gave him two atmega88s from my collection so he wouldn't wait for those. so I'm keeping those that arrived today.
By the way it's interesting I got brand new chips still with Atmel logo on them. Hmm..
And boost converters, he's getting them tomorrow. He couldn't remember what were they for. And I can't remember whether he paid for them.

Re: Off Topic Banter
I ordered about 20 7 segment displays, all common anode for use with pic16f886. They all came but 1, that one was listed as available but then it was backordered.
Turned out the OEM dropped it, so now I have a whole bunch of displays and a big bag of LEDs from the same manufacturer that are all in the same luminescence. But I can't finish that project with these parts because I want them all to dim the same. Of course I didn't find out I wasn't going to be able to get that last display until after the return window had closed.

Re: Off Topic Banter
Can't you adopt different colors for current time and destination time, doc Brown? 17 digits each.
Getting a single component should be possible, as long as you know anything about it other than "OEM 7-segment display". Searching the Internet for the photo from the original offer often works, as many sellers use stock photos from upstream distributor.
Even one from aliexpress is worth the risk, I think.

Re: Off Topic Banter
Never heard of this one before, but it looks like an airfield from which a modified Boeing launches a space rocket mid-air. Interesting, but with very limited capabilities.InsideOut wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 10:22 amNot true! https://spaceportcornwall.com/ Not in the EU though.
As far as I know, most ESA missions are launched from French Guiana in South America, which technically is a EU territory.
Other than that, I believe there are rocket test sites in northern Sweden. But given that vast amount of satellites is geostationary it makes sense to launch them closer to the equator.
But I admit I haven't watched the launch technology or events too closely even when I worked in this field. All I cared about were robust power converters and motor drivers.
