Hook up your DIY sensors to Home Assistant

Hello,

Following mad_ady's great Home Assistant setup guide I migrated my AC control setup to a Home Assistant server installed on my main Odroid-XU4.
I have an ESP32 hooked up to an IR led and a DHT22 as just a sensor/control component.
The connection to Home Assistant is achieved through a pretty cool library called 'esphomelib'.

The logic part will be done through Home Assistant, for details on Home Assistant go to viewtopic.php?t=27321

Anyway, I wanted to share my ESP32 code, I used Platformio but I am 99.8% you can do the same with the Arduino IDE if that's what you are into:

It includes a schematic in Fritzing and my own AC codes for on/off, feel free to make it your own.

Enjoy.

It looks great, but it seems you only use it to turn it on/off. Will you be adding temperature control as well?

That was the plan, on my old setup that's what I did; I had a custom web server that was continuously monitoring and adjusting, but now I have to use the automation logic of Home Assitant to turn it on and off based on temps. I assume it's easy but I just haven't yet been motivated to do it.
Also, I haven't fully decoded the remote for the AC.
