no. It's a little bit more complicated than that.

You could however flash my ODROID N2 image of Debian Bullseye with Kernel 5.x support and I send you the u-boot you require for ODROID C4, with that it would work.

Check out the Games and Emulators section to find some of my work or check the files in my repository to find the software i build for ODROIDs.

You have to try later which ones are working directly from command line.
Else you have to install Desktop as well, shouldn't be a big deal though.

You can download u-boot from here: https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/other/testing/C4/

the u-boot should must be flashed directly to the device for example /dev/sda or /dev/mmcblk0 it comes with a script that does the flashing for you, so you need a Linux system to flash it I guess.
You could even use another ODROID or RPi an a USB to SD/eMMC adapter.

There is a tool installed called setup-odroid which will make it easy for you to install a desktop.

Thank you very much,im using for years rasperrys pi's with berryboot too bad after so many years there is no berryboot for odroids,i know you can create a multiboot menu for Odroids but its nothing compared to bb since the images are highly compressed and saves a lot if space like this.plus many other things.

really depends on the application.
If you have installed MESA drivers (preferably from my backport repository) you have access to the GPU from command line.
For example if you install glmark2-drm it will run directly from command line.

If not mistaken:
Add meveric-bullseye-backports.list to /etc/apt/sources.list.d
wget -O- http://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/meveric.asc | apt-key add -
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

I've incorporated some patches from @DarkBahamut for the ODROID N1 which fixes the Fan control as well as some further overclocking allowing the A53 Cores to go up to 1800MHz and the A72 Cores up to 2088MHz.
I've seen others with even higher overclocking and was also testing some GPU overclocking, but I think the current values are the most stable.

Hi @meveric,

Just a feedback, after installing kernel-5.18.5-arm64, I noticed that on Firefox or Chromium streaming Youtube video, whenever the mouse pointer moves across a "Window Border" the video will momentarily freezes (or jerk) it is repeatable. The same when Firefox or Chromium is running webglsamples Aquarium.

I wonder whether you noticed this and any other users facing the same issue.

can't say for all boards and all Desktop environments, but I quickly tested it under MATE X11 on my ODROID N1 and couldn't recreated these issues.
I'll check see if I can recreate on N2, but haven't connected it to any monitor at the moment.

The momentarily freezes/jerk (Chromium or Firefox streaming video or the mounse pointer itself) whenever a mouse pointer crosses a "Window Border" is on Gnome Wayland session with kernel-5.18.5-arm64. It made the mouse pointer movement choppy whenever it crosses a "Window Border".

Don't have this issue on kernel-5.17.11-arm64 or earlier kernels.

Hi @meveric,

Installed kernel-5.18.10 and it resolved the momentarily freeze whenever the mouse cursor/pointer move across a Window Border on Gnome Wayland session highlighter earlier.

Well that means it was a Kernel bug... I haven't changed any configs.. just a rebuild of a newer version.

Yes, it looks lit. It also affected Manjaro-Arm-Gnome Wayland with kernel-5.18.5-1. The interesting part is the above issue does appear on Manjaro-Arm-KDE Plasma Wayland with kernel-5.18.5-1!

Well with the new kernel-5.18.10-arm64 no more issue on Gnome-Wayland. Thanks.
