Hi Meveric,

First of all great work you're doing, keep on like that!

I've just install Debian Stretch on my C2 but I cannot upgrade kodi-odroid. As far as I know stretch/main repository is already installed with this image, but it keeps saying 17.6 is the last version for kodi-odroid.

What am I doing wrong?

This is the armhf version of Kodi, not arm64 so the ODROID C2 does not yet have a new Kodi.

Nearly all cores were tested individually and confirmed working.
Tested on the ODROID N2 but should work on any other arm64 based ODROID as well (including the ODROID Go Advance).
Not all cores will run full speed though.
Some cores are missing, especially those only with ARM dynamic recompiler (e.g. PSX).

Re: [HOWTO] Debian/Ubuntu repository for Games/Emulators/Kernel

Unread post by SirZevo » Fri Feb 28, 2020 7:00 am

Before switching completely to your Debian Buster build and Hardkernel's kernel, I want to try out the kernel with my current setup. I've removed (purged) the old kernel (linux-image-legacy-meson64 linux-headers-legacy-meson64 linux-u-boot-odroidn2-legacy linux-dtb-legacy-meson64) before installing linux-headers-arm64-odroid-n2 and linux-image-arm64-odroid-n2. I've also removed and reinstalled initramfs*, executed apt autoclean, apt dist-upgrade, apt -f install and dpkg --configure -a without luck. Any ideas why I'm not able to install the kernel with my current setup? It's a recent install from Armbian_20.02.3_Odroidn2_buster_legacy_4.9.213.

Code: Select all

sudo aptitude install linux-headers-arm64-odroid-n2 linux-image-arm64-odroid-n2 -y
The following NEW packages will be installed:

The postinst.d/uInitrd script tries to make a copy of /boot/uInitrd-4.9.213+ under the name of /boot/uInitrd but it says it can't do this, since they are the same file.
Same file can only mean one a a link of the other, either a symlink or a hard link. try deleting /boot/uInitrd manually and try apt install -f again.

Any chance you can add librga-odroid:armhf? I believe the package in your repo only installs librga 64bit.

Thanks, I actually have a good use case for it. Are there source packages for your debs? Just curious to verify librga was patched to enable non-debug mode and in case I wanted to test local patched versions of libs like libgo2, etc...

Thanks!

It seems I can't install librga-odroid:arm64 and :armhf concurrently: installing one removes the other. Forgive me if I'm doing something incorrectly (I'm not a native Debian user).

yeah the headers are part of both packages, therefore they probably conflict each other, and I didn't create separated -dev packages yet.
You can however simply download the package and do a dpkg -i --force-overwrite to allow the one package overwrite files of the other package, since the headers are identical this shouldn't cause any problems.

fwiw, so far everything seems to be good with this image. I think the only outstanding pieces on my side are:

1) if you can allow librga-odroid:{arm64,armhf} installed concurrenty and separate out librga-odroid-dev (for headers)
2) confirm on source packages so I can inspect them or apply deltas on my side for testing
3) I also noticed there are 2 kernels installed in /boot, is this expected?

Ask questions regarding specific images please in the respective sub-forums, this thread is for ALL ODROID boards and OS systems I support, not just one.

I'll see what I can do regarding the -dev package shouldn't be to hard.
