Use the debug board

Unread postby wys_lt2009 » Wed Aug 27, 2014 12:07 pm

Hi,
1) Does Q2(Exynos4412) board also supports JTAG(non-secure) debugging?
2) Does Q2's Debug board supports the debug fuctions, such as single step debugging, checking registers, downloading the code, etc?
3) Does Q2 need other ICE simulator and IDE emulator software to use the debug board for JTAG debug?
4) Has Q2's Debug board R232 UART port (DB9) connector?
Thanks

AFAIK, there is no NON-Secure JTAG on Exynos-4412.
So no way to support the JTAG features.

There is a UART console and it is an only way for debugging.

Thank you for prompt reply.

1) Q2's CPU only Exynos-4412?
2) Can Exynos-4412 use SecureJTAG ?if yes, How much do you charge for the SecureJTAG? and how to obtain the license SecureJTAG with Samsung?
3)What odriod types can support non-secure JTAG function?

Thanks

1) Yes, it is the Exynos-4412 Prime

2) You need to contact Samsung directly to get the key/lincense of S-JTAG.
We tried once.. but they don't license it to small company like Hardkernel. :(

3) No... AFAIK, most Samsing SoC/AP have only S-JTAG.

Nope because ODROID-X2 doesn't have the JTAG pads exposed.

Did one board recognize PC connection like adb or mass-storage?

the board's usb host can recognize PC connection such as mass-storage, and usb device can be recongized by PC connection。but it can not be charged well through usb device, for example ,3 hours --- 20%

I see.
We will replace the Q2.
Contact "odroid at hardkernel dot com" with a URL of this thread.
She will help your RMA process.
