Yes, I use a LCD,...new trial with fb0, same result...but I had fb0 and more in the old /dev, but no more fbx in /dev after downloading the new kernel, so ...and I cannot copy it even using sudo nautilus...

Can you confirm if this kernel works with the XU and does it support the PowerVR GPU Acceleration drivers? Or do I need to install them manually?

EDIT: Does it also show the 8 CPU cores, or just 4? By that, does the full processing power of the ODROID get used?

This kernel is only for ODROID-U2/U3/X2/X.

When I boot with the new kernel, I have no screen !

Doing more tests this afternoon, I discover the files fb0/fb1...cannot be seen if the SD-Card is seen as a slave memory..I don't know why, so may be I have them in the new setup, but anyway the xconf.org doesn't work with the LCD...

hi,

i after the dd of ubuntu image on my sd card, i try to ssh in it and all go well.
Then i update the kernel with the script (an newer 3.4 kernel), restart the odroid XU, try to connect with ssh and nothing, it disappear (and i have no one micro hdmi cable to see if u-boot or something else answer me something)...

How i can use an early update kernel with ubuntu instead of archlinux that is good supported?

I quite don't understand.. This script doesn't work on Archlinux, XU is a official platform on Archlinux ARM. And all the updates are on pacman repos.

As for Ubuntu.. without an Uart kit its near impossible to know why its failing. You haven't even posted the output when you run the update-script.

As from today.. kernel headers are now included. For All ODROID boards :)
Make sure to re-download the script

Would it be possible to extend the script so that it can pull the GIT source to a TMP directory (or allow us to configure the base of a local git directory on the device)
so that changes can be made locally, then the script compiles and runs on local directories

Yes.. that you be possible.. but I don't see why...
There's tutorials on the forums on how to build your own kernel. And not everyone will have 3GB of space to deal with this building

Back when I had linux 3.0.71-odroidx2 in my xubuntu 13.04 image, opencv worked right recognizing every camera I plugged in /dev/video6, 7 and +
But know that I have updated to 3.8.13.14 I can see 10 camera interfaces /dev/video0 to 9. When I plug a camera it goes to /dev/video10 but opencv keeps telling me that index 10 is not correct and cannot initializate capture structure... Wonder why there is more camera interfaces and why opencv cannot work. Tried cheese but it crash seconds after opening it, tried vlc but it only get one frame and that's it. Any help would be appreciate here, thanks

Install the camorama application via apt-get.
And try "camorama -d /dev/video10". It should work.

I think some application software/library may block the node number higher than 10.
In that case, you need to modify the source code.

hello1 I found some problem (perhaps). Odroid X2, using 3.8.13.14 kernel in openSUSE dist. I try to compile driver for Wi-fi adater that use Realtek rtl8188 chip. On my laptop (kernel more old 3.1.0-1.2, x86) all good, i compile driver, install it, all works. When i try to do the same on X2 found this:
1) small problem. Soft links in /lib/modules/3.8.13.14 such build and source go to /optc/git ... and deeper - in directory that was not exists. I remake both links to /usr/src/linux-3.8.13.14. Compiling started, but...
2) i take a error:

Code: Select all

include/linux/types.h:5:30: fatal error: uapi/linux/types.h Нет такого файла (it's mean that file not exists)
it's true, in src i can't find any uapi directory. I don't know what to do that solve problem, only know that Google says that in kernel 3.12 there is this file. So, may be it just lost via compilation from original kernel to X2 version ?
EDIT: i mean this part of kernel http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel ... clude/uapi
odroid micropc's it's a wonderful thing! It's a cheap and powerful tool for realize your technical ideas! Thank you, hardkernel, you change a part of my life

Are there any plans to revisit the sound driver to figure out why headphone and hdmi can't produce sound simultaneously, as discussed in this thread?

Hi Castillan,

I finally did reproduced it here and I couldn't encounter the same issue.

I've booted from an eMMC with an SD connected.

How did you updated your kernel?
what's the output of:
uname -a
lsmod

try:
apt-get install fbset
con2fbmap 1 0

and then control+alt+f1 on the board

thank you very match, you give me right direction. I found kernel sources in https://github.com/hardkernel/linux, follow the instructions as here http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=81, fix some small errors that traditionally occurs. After "make" command i try "make install", but error occured with Perl bootloader. Anyway, i'm manually do some copy’s. After all i can compile driver for WiFi adapter and configure odroid and laptop via Ad-Hoc network

Are kernel builds still being generated for 3.8.13.x at http://builder.mdrjr.net?

The last commit I see on the https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/tree/odroid-3.8.y branch is for a merge with 3.8.13.16 but when I run the update script it only downloads 3.8.13.14 and the lastest build log is from 2014.01.26-23.48.

Thanks for all your awesome work mdrjr! :D

I am trying to get my Technisat SkyStar USB HD tuner to work, but although the drivers should be in the linux kernel since 2.6.39 I cant get it to work.

Could you please include this driver in a new build?

Should CONFIG_SERIAL_8250=y be removed from default config?
- No 8250 on boards
- Avoids misleading creation of /dev/ttyS1-4 that don't work anyway.

I ran the shell script and it updated fine but I still cannot plug my USB smsc7500 lan into the board and have it work. It still doesn't show up with ifconfig.

with "lsusb" it shows up as an item in the list as before.

Am I doing something wrong?
