C2 is quite nice... waiting for new boards :)

Unread postby mikronauts » Tue Sep 13, 2016 9:37 am

My C2 review was delayed, but should be up soon. Bought two, and I like them :)

Now the big question is... when do we finally get an ODROID with >2GB ram, Gig-E, and SATA???

More than one USB3 host port (A style, not microB) would also be welcome.

The XU4, with the SATA bridge board and a powered USB 3.0 hub, has almost all of those things. The 2GB is quite generous for an ARM board, and is a limitation of the SOC itself. Do you find yourself running out of memory?

I do, quite often ;)
And the first cellphones are already on market with 6GB RAM (http://www.phonegg.com/top/60-Highest-RAM).
3-4 GB would be nice though, since most new devices have this by now.

Yes, C2 is nice board!
And it would be even nicer if it has an RTC clock buil-in. You know, I'm a clock maniac...

Lovely little board indeed but like others have said only two gigs of ram is a serious bottleneck. The cpu and gpus are wonderful and can keep up with ease

C2 is a nice board, but for little battery powered project, the odroid-C0 is better... so when an Odroid-C0 with the C2 cpu and ram ? ;)

phonegg has bad data use gsmarena instead.
OnePlus3T is the only phone with >= 6GB RAM with a Lineage OS build, would be nice to have an Odroid board of that SOC.
