Nintendo 3DS emulator citra-sa is crashing with VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST in 20231029 and 20231110 releases.. works fine on 20231023.
We have identified the citra emu commit that broke support and have patched it out. Citra should work again on the next release. Will probably be out in the next couple days.

How can I exit Dolphin emulator? Any shortcuts for that? I always have to turn off the device with the on/off button as nothing works

I updated to the last stable Jelos version with the update tool (system settings -> update). After rebooting the system the hard kernel logo looks normal but than Jelos is starting and the color is switched to green (all black seams to be shifted to green now).

How can I solve this display issue? I didn't have this problem with the older Jelos release I updated from. It was 20230614, I guess.
(and yes, also my problem like in the post before: The battery loading indicator is gone with this update)

Looks like you still have the old version of u-boot installed before we added the dsi driver. We patched out the panel init in u-boot to resolve this issue. Odd that the u-boot is no longer getting updated with each JELOS update, ill look into it. But in the meantime doing a clean flash to the latest build should resolve the green screen.

At this time the version released on 12-12-23 cannot see microSD cards. Tried multiple OGU units (I have x6 of them, clear and grey)
Same issue with all.

No SD card is detected.
Had to drop back to 12-1-23 version

Can confirm this. Also, can Jelos handle F2FS formatted SD cards?

It sees it just fine. It's important to always review the release notes, as we include important changes in them. Create a roms directory on your games card and move all of the folders into it.

Just installed JelOS for the first time. Was hoping to use Moonlight for game streaming.

Was trying to follow the Wiki, but cannot see the Moonlight Game Streaming Sub Menu.

Is there additional steps not in the Wiki needed to get this working?

Moonlight does not work on the OGU build of JELOS and was removed from the UI for this device.

hii.. i'm recently get OGU and i want use Jelos..
my Question is:
1. is cheat built-in on Jelos?? preinstalled ES likely not available.. Cheats very important for Me :lol:
long time ago i have OGA.. im installing Custom FW to OGA and its have built-in Cheat.. but i'm forgot what Cust FW(EmuElec maybe RetroArch) since i sell it..
2. better installing Jelos (or another Custom FW) to EMMC or SDCARD??
as far as i remember on my previous OGA Custom FW is installed to SDCARD
3. is Recovery still available if i installing Jelos or another Custom FW?? who know in future im using Stock ES again

i'm also read several problem in this forum for OGU, likes CPU Damaged if install Batocera, can't enter Recovery after flashing/updating ES v1.2, etc..
so i will doing all above safely as possible because i'm far from Soth Korea (Indonesia).. Tax & Shipping price may very high if my OGU problem then sent for repair..
thankz before..

1. Most of our emulators are Retroarch based so cheats should still work fine.
2. EMMC, use the SD card for your games
3. We use HardKernel's u-boot with a few patches. Recovery works after install and no risk to damage the SOC due to overvoltage as seen on some other beta custom firmwares.
*Also worst case scenario can always use HardKernel's recovery SD card image to reflash the EMMC.

The opening post of this thread has several recommended compatible usb chipsets (all realtek) but the official Harkdkernel one you have listed above would be my recommendation. If you are located in the United States you can buy it from ameridroid for ~$15 shipped, if elsewhere here is probably the best to buy it. But most realtek devices should work.

@brooksytech
i think my battery percentage weird while charging..
when charging at device turn on its stop at 30%(or some percentage), no "flash" mark on battery indicator.. then unpluged type-C, then wait some second for percentage changed, but still 30%..
after reboot suddenly became 91%..

also charging when device turn off (using only Type-C or Type-A+Type-C) there is no Led blinking or Battery Charging Animation like Stock ES and then always reboot to Jelos..
until now im always charging at device standby, so i can know battery percentage..
still confusing about charging :cry:

It will be fixed in the next release. We updated to gcc13, but it appears to break a few things so rolling back to gcc 12 until we can iron out those issues.

Nice thanks, glad it isn't something I did wrong lol. Is there a Jelos issue tracker? I don't see one on the distribution GitHub page.

We intentionally disabled issue tracking and reporting. We do have a project tracker (https://github.com/orgs/JustEnoughLinuxOS/projects), best way to keep up with development / bug fixes is to follow the change log or the development chats on our discord server.

i'm usually directly power off from Homescreen, not via Recovery first..
hope this fix to minimalizing using hardware button..

this is issue only Jelos/ or also Stock ES?? because when using Jelos shutdown via menu causing my battery depleted very2 fast :lol:
more battery depleted rather than i'm playing games :D

for Stock ES im only try it very quick..
Flash Stock ES ==> booting & checking ==> no cheat?? ==> back again flash Jelos :lol:

Encountered an error where core dumps unknowingly accumulated in /storage/.cache/cores, eventually using up all of the disk space, which somehow resulted in a trashed /storage/.config/weston.ini which, in turn, prevented ES from launching upon boot. The device would get stuck at a Weston desktop instead of ES. Deletion of the core dumps and restoration of weston.ini from a backup fixed the issue.

So compared to December, I've noticed I can play games I couldn't play before, performance of the Ultra using JELOS increased remarkably. I can even get God of War II running, couldn't play Super Mario Sunshine before, but can now.

I'm interested in what changes were made that led to such improvements if anyone involved with JELOS is willing to share.

Hello, unfortunately, Jelos has come to an end, and may no longer have support for this handheld, you can check on the Discord from the project for news or a possible new version of it for the OGU:

Just an FYI we have rebranded the project as ROCKNIX. Mainly focusing on rockchip devices (hence the name) but have added on releases for the OGU and other S922X devices. I would recommend just doing a clean flash.

Image has been working great for emulation so far, but I've been looking to play some ports from Port Master as well and the majority of them just seem like they do not want to boot at all. I'm not talking about games where you have to add files, I'm talking about ready to go games like Super Tux. Is this a common issue when using this image on the Ultra or am I doing something wrong?

Also, when I press start, I do not see an option for moonlight on the menu. The version on Port Master does not seem to work either. Is there something specific I need to do to enable it?

Re: Rocknix - Odroid Go Ultra

I'm thinking of buying a Ultra Go because, at least on paper, the price/performance ratio can't be beat. Has anyone tested PS2, Gamecube, and 3ds emulation on the Ultra Go on Rocknix? How is it?

Honestly, the hardware if fine, but I've been finding the software just isn't there. The official image does not seem run Gamecube or games like God of War for PSP at full speed without frameskip. Rocknix runs both a full speed, but I keep running into roadblocks. For example, God of War for PSP runs great, but for some reason the the save state menu for the PSP emulator is mapped to the left stick by default, and even when I change it in the controls, it doesn't seem to fix it? Rocknix is also supposed to be able to run Ports and Moonlight, and I haven't been able to get either to work. It's a shame, because it does seem like a good device, I guess it just didn't reach enough of a critical mass to get better software support. I have no doubt all this stuff will work if you're willing to sink a few hours into tinkering with it.

You are not getting playable 3DS emulation on this device for games like Mario 3D Land.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Like you said, great hardware and price but I'll wait till Rocknix matures on it and fixes the bugs.

Exactly, and I never intended to throw any kind of shade at the developers who are working on this software for end users for free; I am grateful they are working on it at all. I just kind of get the impression that there isn't a big installed base for the Odroid Go Ultra, and as a result, the documentation and software isn't as mature as it is for some other devices.

There's a lot of active development going on for the GOU in ROCKNIX. The joystick issue is fixed in the development branch and will be part of the next release (temporary fix is https://pastebin.com/BwUd0wVC. There's also fixes for Portmaster in dev but I haven't built from source yet to test. Haven't tried Moonlight yet but I'll do that after the next release, I'm pretty sure I saw some driver changes made. It's been fun to watch the work getting done on their discord instance.

With regard to Moonlight, I read that Amlogic video decoding (VDEC) is lacking development and no real progress made in recently.

https://forum.manjaro.org/t/update-on-l ... port/79153

I dont really understand the full picture, but here I've noticed there is no firmware listed for g12b in meson.

https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/latest ... platform.c

e.g.

MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/g12a_h264.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/g12a_vp9.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/gxbb_h264.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/gxl_h264.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/gxl_mpeg12.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/gxl_vp9.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/gxm_h264.bin");
MODULE_FIRMWARE("meson/vdec/sm1_vp9_mmu.bin");

Due to this, I kind of thought that Moonlight would be a no go on S922X. But maybe someone with a better understanding could explain if I'm understanding correctly?

Thanks for the info! I figured out after that for some reason ppspp reads left joystick down as something like "left pad back" so I managed to fix the issue for now by remapping left joystick down to that. Good to know they are working on these things. Even if Moonlight never works, I'd be over the moon if I could play a few ports like Ship of Hanarkon and Stardew Valley on there. I'm very grateful for all the hard work the devs are putting in.

I've been fiddling with the device more, and PSP and Gamecube emulation is very good with Rocknix. Getting a solid 60 in Chains of Olympus at 1x and I can get 60 in more non-intensive games at 2x. Switched to PAL Gamecube roms and haven't had so much as a hiccup in the games I've tried after that, though I've only tried a few. OGU is definitely worth the asking price if you're willing to fiddle with it a bit to make everything work.

Double posting in case anyone is reading and on the fence about buying an Ultra. A new update for Rocknix dropped and fixed a lot of the issues I had in my last couple of posts. I tried a few ports such as Super Tux, Sonic Mania, SOH and Stardew Valley and it seems Portmaster is working well now. I got 50 and 30 in the PAL versions Double Dash and Wind Waker respectively. Can't speak for more intense games, but those ran very well. 60 frames in Chains of Olympus at 1x for PSP and control stick issue has been fixed.

Good to know. I recently pulled the trigger after I realized they were on sale and cheaper that the PK clone. I use rocknix for some of my other devices so I’m excited for this

Regarding the PSP games, the PK clone and Retroid Pocket 2s (which have a less poweful GPUs) can easily 2x (and more) the entire PSP catalogue of games (including GoW). Are the graphics drivers not implemented yet in Rocknix?

GOW is very playable at 2x. It is almost constantly at 60fps and occasionally dips to 55-56. We're talking occasional hiccups here at 2x. Just at 1x there are no hiccups. I played at 2x for about five minutes just now, and it ran at a full 60fps a good 98-99% of the time. TBH, that is one of the more difficult games to run, and it'd be a it of a head scratcher why you would want higher than 2x for PSP games on 5 inch 854x480 display.
