I am happy to provide you with new pre-installed KODI images, they will have the animated SplashScreen on booting + GameStream Support (which was not working on the image before)

Hi, these new changes are in kodi-bin directly? So I can do just apt upgrade? Or I need to extract it somehow from the new Ubuntu image?

Asking, because in the repo is just the old kodi-bin from 2023.

Thanks and happy new year :)

Most of those changes did affect only the image with pre-installed KODI, but everything should just work if you manually installed KODI, just report if it doesn't ;)

P.S.: thanks, and happy new year for you too!

For a reason I dont understand this image is not bootable in my m1s, so I will try to recreate it based on the steps of the first post. in order to do that I have to select an image, what is the image version you are using?

Iǘe used the server version in the reposotory and followed up all steps in post one. Is there anything else to do?

For example I dont have the animated SplashScreen on booting you added a couple of post ago.

I will really appreciate if you can add the addon pvr simple client, because I need to use m2u lists for iptv.

                Thank you

Strange, the images are testet and known to work, any error message or just black screen when you boot? For the manual installation, I also used the server image, to have the SplashScreen just install it via apt install kodi-boot-splashscreen

                Regards,
                Daniel

I flash it with ballena etcher, like any other image, unplug M1S from pc and remove the power and the sdcard from the M1S.

After that I power it again, like I do with any other image, but it doesnt boot, the blue light of the M1S keeps turned off, not blinking like when you flased a bootable image.

I think it is not a problem of the image, but there is something strange/wrong with my unit.

I flased ubuntu server, and it works, and repeated post 1 steps, so... now all is OK.

How can I port the PVR simple client addon to be used in this kodi? It is quite important to me.

                Thank you

I testet it now and it works, I even didn't had to change the alsamixer settings, maybe that ALSA libraries are needed I did install it but without changing anything to alsamixer apt install alsa-utils libasound2-plugin-equal libasound2-plugin-smixer libasound2-plugins-extra, changed the audio output device to this one from within KODI ->

                    i need use pulseaudio
Changing the default output sink from PulseAudio is not hard to find with google

From a shell execute this command pacmd set-default-sink 1 to make this setting permanently edit /etc/pulse/default.pa find the line set-default-sink 0 and change it to set-default-sink 1 save the file and exit

That's it, the better approach is maybe to use PulseAudio with Bluetooth Headset or Speakers, works also very good, but it's up to your setup

                    Regards,
                    Daniel

Are you planning to migrate more plugins to increase the functionality, as the browser launcher or any other that completes the kodi functionalitY?

It would be great. Now I´m stating to take advantage of my M1S!!

How can I update this version by sudo apt upgrade or install someting by sudo apt install from a ssh sesion?

Currently I get all the time:

Waiting for cache lock: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. It is held by process 1524 (unattended-upgr)

I want to install rknpu to experiment with Artificial Intelligence, so another question is how to temporarily stop kodi execution for performing these tests.

                            Thank you

Just wait for unattended-upgrades to finish. Or kill process 1524.
For NPU - Kodi does not use it (it uses GPU and VPU), so NPU performance should not be affected by kodi.

I thought kodi can take processor time and affect the overall performance, my mistake.
                            Thanks
