ODroid-M1 in vanilla kernel?

Post by monnier »

I see a few rf3568 boards in vanilla Linux (BPI's R2-Pro and Radxa's Rock 3A) but not Odroid-M1 yet. When will its DTS be included?
What support is still (and/or will be still) missing?

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... p?h=master

[ The M1 covers most of my needs, so I'm just waiting for it to get support in the vanilla kernel. FWIW the main boxes it does *not* check in my list of features is "power in via standard USB C" and "a second network interface" (tho the USB-OTG can play the role of a second network interface to some extent, so I can live with it) ]

Thanks. That doesn't discuss upstreaming the code, tho, which I think is very important (I intend to keep using that board well into the 2030s).

I see that as of today, Linus's code still doesn't include a DTS file for the ODroid-M1. Any chance we can get that fixed soon?

Code: Select all

That thread has posts inside that discussed exactly that.

You have to wait for the 6.2.0 release to trickly down in your distribution. The board DTS source will land at earliest in 6.2.0-rc1.There are already distributions that picked it up as early bird adoption like Armbian. I am running fedora since day one with a self build kernel with WIP patches applied. When 6.2.0-rc1 becomes available for fedora 37, it will work out-of-the-box with all mainline support available.
