No booting in Odroid M1 and no signal on the display

Post by manas7891 »

I am developing an android app in Odroid M1 and also attempting to use GPIO pins (Still not successful), Using display of r7 inch hdmi lcd Vu7A+.
It was operating all well and I shut it down as normal using the jumper pins located a j7. Next day it is not booting, only Led is blinking and no SYS Led is blinking. The display shows that there is no signal.
Even I re-installed the OS... but still not working.

Its a dangerous situation for me, can somebody help me out.

The red LED must be solid on at least.
If the red LED is blinking(flashing), there must be something wrong in the power rail on the board.

Which power supply have you used?

I double checked the power supply, it is the officially supplied 12 V output 24 watt rating. The RED LED is indeed solid, but the blue one (SYS LED) is not blinking at all. I could see anothe LE3, which is blinking.

What is the anothe LE3 which is blinking?
Is it a LED near the NVMe SSD slot?

Anyway, remove all of your boot media like microSD, eMMC module, NVMe SSD.
And turn on your board and check the LED status again if you didn't erase the Petitboot in the SPI flash memory.

OKay, I did, but still the same. Always in sleep mode, I cannot see the petitboot installer also . But what I observe is that I can access the android device using adb file system from my PC.

Really weird.
If you are still able to access ADB interface, the blue LED must be blinking like heartbeat.

You didn't answer for the question about the blinking LE3. What is it?

The green LED is an indicator for NVMe storage device.
It blinks when OS accesses the NVMe.
Therefore, I think your M1 CPU is still alive at least.

I guess the blue LED on your board was damaged or disabled by you.

I tried to turn on the blue led, but I do not see any change. For your information I had experimented on GPIO pins yesterday for my app development and tried to install an app. the app did not install due to few warnings (not error). however the system was working until I shutdown and restarted it. Also I am unable to see the boot-loader too.

How did you reinstall the Android OS image?
Do you use an eMMC for Android OS?

Also try reflashing the Petitboot into your SPI flash memory to narrow down root causes.

For installing/ re-installing Android OS: I flashed the sata drive used in the odroid device using an external adapter. I donot use any other memory device like eMMc.

Remove all of boot media from your M1 board first.
And flash the latest M1 Petitboot image into a spare microSD card for recovery as I told you.
http://ppa.linuxfactory.or.kr/images/pe ... /odroidm1/
Boot from it by pressing the boot select tact switch at front of your M1 board and check if the boot menu appears or not.
