Device is not Play Protect certified

Post by Nelissen »

Hi,

I grabbed the playstore from opengapps.org (arm64-9.0- pico).

Is that a mistake?

It keeps giving these messages.

Anyone?

Thnx!

No, it takes random hours until Google registers your device key.

Still not solved.

Is there something else I can try!

I'm a total newb with all this and the C4 is my first SBC so be easy on me haha, the last time I did some fooling around with an OS was with Ubuntu on an old laptop about 13 years back.

I went to that link where it explains what to do to get your device ID but when i open the Terminal and type in "adb root" nothing happens ? How much of that do you have to type into the terminal to get your Device Id

Cheers

I didn't!

After succesfull installation of the device id apk I went to the 'Device ID' app, opened it and the 'Android Device ID' code stood on top.

Took a picture and submitted the code.

So... what happens once you hit the green [Register] button after entering your code?
Should you get some kind of notice that your key has been excepted?

For me it just sat there.... eventually the verification tick box expired for the "I am not a robot" and it asked me to tick it again.
The field where I pasted my code has a red outline like it does not like it.... been over an hour now... am I boned?
Thanks,
-OG-

Did you enter the code from the app 'Device ID' called the 'Android device ID' wich stands on top? 16 numbers and letters.

The red outline seems to indicate that the code is not ok.

Yes... I am hoping it is red now as it knows I have entered it once?
So when you enter a proper code and click register, does the screen change?
Thanks,

ok... so I am at a loss.... I downloaded and flashed a new image... I have tried both the Device ID and the GSF... it does not like either.
I do see the other 2 ID's I have registered at the bottom of the page.... any other ideas?

Bizarre... it suddenly worked.. .the only thing I did was DL the older ver of the ID checker... but that should not have made any difference. :shock:
Thanks,

You need to convert the GSF code provided by 'device ID' to decimal and then submit it.
However it wouldn't let me copy and paste into the text field, I had to type it in.
Although I can view my code online it's now been 2 hrs for my code to be activated/registered on the Odroid C4 and I'm still waiting. :(

I received my SBC yesterday.
Updated: ok
Installed gapps nano: ok
Installed device id: ok
Went to google.com/android/unregistered, type in both Android Device ID and GSF
Rebooted, got the "not protected"
Waited one day
Rebooted

I still get the message it's not play protected.

What can I do ?

[SOLUTION ] Device is not Play Protect certified

Post by Burette »

The registration did not work, no matter how long I waited.

I got bored of the process not going through

[Solution]
  • I reflashed the ROM;
  • Installed gapps before updating the android package;
  • Installed "device ID apk";
    • The Android Device ID and GSF are given in hexadecimal
  • Went to https:\google\android\uncertified
    • Whereas the registration form accepts the GSF in hexadecilal and converts it to decimal, it expects Android digital ID to be in decimal;
    • One must use a hexadecimal to decimal converter. Just google it, there are plenty;
    • Typed in both AID and GSF

It worked !!!, no need to wait random time

So, apart from reflashing, I am not sure if registering the device before updating the package to the latest version or, which if any of the other steps were essential but I had lost one day on it before having success with this sequence.

I can't see it. I don't know what happened but Tapatalk is just partially incompatible with this forum software since some time.

Sorry for Tapatalk... I like bullet list to clarify things.

Does anyone have the original factory img from 2022 that came with the m1s? It seems like the dynamic disks does not have enough space.

I welcome any other suggestions!

I think you would need to download the Android source code and modify the partition sizes in board config file and compile your own version. Or, if you can't, ask the Hardkernel developers, maybe they can provide this in a few days... And better you make an own thread for this in M1/M1S forum.
