How to upgrade Debian from 10 to 11

Post by Enig123 »

Please help me upgrade net-installed Debian Buster to the latest Debian Bullseye. How should I do to do the upgrade?

The Debian Buster was net-installed, since I thought Buster was the most compatible choice at the time of installing. Well since php Buster offered will stop upgrade, there's need to upgrade to newer Bullseye.

Thanks in advance.

You can try after changing "buster" to "bullseye" in the directory "/etc/apt". The files would be "/etc/apt/sources.list" and "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ppa_linuxfactory_or_kr.list".

Once you change, try these two commands.

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

Thank you tobetter, as always.

Funny thing is that I did the upgrade without modify the ppa_linuxfactory_or_kr.list and has been run it fow quite a while.

Just did modify ppa_linuxfactory_or_kr.list and the kernal upgraded successfully.

Oh, that's fine the packages from ppa_linuxfactory_or_kr are sort of duplicated packages for many distros I provide.
Anyway thank you for letting me know you are all good. :)
