crash during Debian 11 to 12 upgrade

Post by farnsworth »

I'd like to update my OMV installation from Debian 11 to 12 but it's failing continuously:

I tried several times (using dd backups of my sd card) but the result was the same, during the Debian update process (apt upgrade) the host reboots with no identified reason :

Code: Select all

Setting up libproc2-0:arm64 (2:4.0.2-3) ...
Setting up bsdmainutils (12.1.8) ...
Setting up libluajit-5.1-common (2.1.0~beta3+git20220320+dfsg-4.1) ...
Setting up libpng16-16:arm64 (1.6.39-2) ...
Setting up libmpc3:arm64 (1.3.1-1) ...
Setting up libevent-core-2.1-7:arm64 (2.1.12-stable-8) ...
Setting up libatomic1:arm64 (12.2.0-14) ...
Setting up udev (252.22-1~deb12u1) ...
client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe <<===== reboot
after the crash the system is back online (ssh at least is reachable), if I try to resume with the upgrade it reboots again :

Code: Select all

root@omv:~# apt upgrade
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
root@omv:~# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up libxcb-dri3-0:arm64 (1.15-1) ...
Setting up php-common (2:93) ...
client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe <<===== reboot again
it's unclear to me which package update causes the reboot, maybe the first thing to do would be to find it, if you have any idea it is appreciated.

Thanks for your help
