On-screen keyboard lacks "|" character, can't join my WiFi
Using Ubuntu 18.04 ES image Release 2.2, when I go to set up the WiFi and try to enter my WiFi password, there is no "|" character in the onscreen keyboard, so I cannot enter the password on the device since my WiFi password has a "|" in it. Is there any workaround? The included keyboard really should have that character, I have never had a problem joining any device to my network before, all my other device keyboards have the "|" character.

This is a known issue. The default keyboard from LVGL is used and is missing some characters that are used in WIFI passwords. The workaround is to change the WIFI password.
To elaborate further, the specification technically allows approximately 254 different characters for a WiFi password. It will always be possible to generate a password that does not work on some device.

Changing the WiFi password would mean reconfiguring about 20 other devices, which would be silly! I tried Batocera, and that had "|" so I'll just go with Batocera.
