Device constantly dragging right
It's like the right on the dpad got stuck.
First I though it's a faulty analog stick, but it's still exist after disconnecting it. Tried to clean the silicone and the dpad, no help.
Impossible to play. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Device constantly dragging right
Yes, I tried, still dragging right. Strangely not in the main menu, where I choose console systems, but in games like gba or psp or gbc.

Same here, exact same issues - dragging right in-game, no problem in the menu. Unfortunately makes the ogoa unusable.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
I was also having this issue but I managed to fix it by making sure the ribbon cable for the analog stick is connected properly. After running evtest with and without an analog stick plugged in I determined that even without an analog stick it registers a value of 250 on the X-axis, making it go to the right. So it not being plugged in correctly seems like a very plausible cause to me.

Ah, thanks for your reply. So I guess I can't fix the issue because of this: viewtopic.php?f=196&t=37740. Damn.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
Would be great to add an option in the settings to disable the analogue stick, so it's not annoying if it's gets broken or start drifting, so you can still play with dpad without any issues.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
That would be great. Or at least something that makes it stay neutral when there's nothing connected.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
Done some investigation on my unit and actually I think the ribbon cable connector is faulty. It's soldered on properly, but it doesn't hold the ribbon cable tight, even after flapping the black lock thingy down the ribbon cable is not secure in there, it's loose. And it's making the whole unit useless. Anyone can help?

Re: Device constantly dragging right
Just got my device from Ameridroid. Having the same issue. The analog ribbon does not stay snug in slot even with the clip pushed down. No game works because the unit thinks the stick is being pushed to the right.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
OK, as Heufneutje stated, this can be fixed. What I noted here is that when you flip up the plastic tab on the analog ribbon connector, you need to lift it up all the way (like 90 degree angle). Then insert the ribbon, hold it in place while you lock it back down. It appears that you have to raise that flap all the way up for the ribbon to get fully snug into connector and to make it hold tight. If you only raise it half or 3/4ths of the way, it doesn't seem to lock down the ribbon connector correctly. It really does come down to trial and error.

I found an how-to assemble video that's imo much better than the shaky, partly time lapse video. He explains everything calm and detailed: https://youtu.be/ncrmk0n2Iv4

Tried to have the flap totally when connecting, same problem. So now I can throw out my unit?

Re: Device constantly dragging right
hej.luxom, It may take several tries to get this right. Best advice is to open it all the way (90 degrees) and insert ribbon then close. After doing that, take screwdriver or a pair of tweezers and gently check to see if ribbon cable is secure in connector. It took me at least 6-7 tries to get that ribbon secure in there.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
when you put the ribbon cable into the open flap see how there are "grooves" in the cable. I used my fingernails there and pushed the cable in on both sides, and locked it.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
Hi, I have the same issue, no matter which emulator I'm using, characters go always to the right but only in game, not when using UI. I don't know what to do. I post a url to a video uploaded to my onedrive account.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
@fester you have to put it - gently - completely into the jack, it's a bit difficult because it's pretty tight in the end. Everything what is marked here with the line goes into the jack, up to where the arrow points to. Gently.

Re: Device constantly dragging right
If the ribbon moves (even slightly), it's not yet positioned correctly. Had the problem too but now it works perfectly. It could happen, that you push the ribbon cable back down by accident while trying to connect it. As I wrote: try it gently, because the jack is super fragile.
Good luck.
PS: If it doesn't work I could take a better picture of what it should look like (ripped this one from the wiki).
