USB C to 12 volt 5mm barrel jack

Post by wallyz21 »

I've seen some of these on the web and was wondering if something similar could be used to power the N2.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 39ee4oIkcK

I was looking at the Nexdock touch for use with the N2 but it only supplies power to the PI or N2 over USB 3.1 C so I was wondering if there was a converter.

If you have dump USB C, its 5V (usually 3A). No, you can't provide 12V just like that.

Not necessarily. If you have a charger supporting USB-C PD (power delivery) then it can provide 5, 9, 12, 15 and 20 V. You Can buy cables with a chip that requests the PD charger to send 12V.

If you have a chip in the cable which is telling PSU what voltage to provide is ofc possible.

Where we can buy them? I would be interested to get a few.
