Re: CoreELEC
If you have an adapter use that to clean flash otherwise boot CE from SD (emmc removed) and use the installtoemmc script. Follow instructions.

Re: CoreELEC
Found a solution. Booted eMMC to linux(which it came with), dropped to terminal and ran:
sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M count=1
This rendered the eMMC unable to boot, then I could boot with the coreelec SD card with the eMMC installed, and run the installtoemmc command. I now have eMMC running coreelec!
Solution was from C2 forum:

Re: CoreELEC
Netflix on CoreELEC in South Korea. It has played about more than 30 minutes and It looks working flawlessly. It just needs to install Korean fonts.
Thanks a lot.

The n2 is impressive and coreelec works very well. But I can not get the Dvbsky s960 to work. It appears in tvheadend, but it tells me that "there is no free adapter" Any help?

I think I've tried all the options. driver.dvb.crazycat-9.0.0-2018-04-12, driver.dvb.crazycat_aml-9.1.0, driver.dvb.crazycat-9.1.0. With all of them, he says "no signal". I tried again with the rockpro and everything was perfect.

It's best to create an issue on CoreELEC forum. Afl1 is our dvb developer and he's not in this forum.

If someone here who wants to use CoreELEC with the other language rather than English, Install an add-on for your language and change fonts to Arial based.
Works great.

Re: CoreELEC
got my N2s yesterday; installed Coreelec on 2 of them.
@ the 1st one I restored my C2 Backup => works great
@ the 2nd I restored my NUC7i Backup => works also great with small lags now and then
I am using AEON NOX Silvo on both ....
I AM HAPPY
Is there (somewhere) a counter about the number of CoreELEC@N2 installations?

Re: CoreELEC
Hey, I am having a weird issue and not sure if I should ask here or at the coreelec forum.
* I was at the original alpha version and had issues with NFS mounts being VEERY slow sometimes (everything is wired at 1gb, the nfs source is not the problem), as in, taking 30s to access a folder.
* I updated to devel-1556153587 and now i have the same NFS issue + framedrops when playing anything (can be 1080p h264, 1080p h265 or even 720p h264) from the NFS source.
What is going on?
Edit: same behavior when navigating via samba
ethtool reports negotiated at 1gb/s

I think some people (you are the 2nd user) have network issues. I think it is a bug in the network driver. The thing is it works here for me as I'd say for 90% of the others. I'm getting stable 75MB/s through ssh/sftp.

Re: CoreELEC
I haven't messed around much but I have played some rather large 4K HDR movies over NFS without any issues.
I did have the system hang once white updating the library and watching live TV through tvheadend. Other than that small issue this has been my best experience with Kodi yet.

@deivid: Use iperf and check for packet loss. There were some reports on ubuntu as well. Fixed with a uboot/petitboot update.

Re: CoreELEC
If you boot via petitboot, it uses uboot flashed on the spi, so that needs to be updated as well

Yeah but if you didn't switch the SPI switch it should use uboot from emmc and I don't understand how this is causing Network issues.

Ähm ... yep, I did, but I wasn't sure if I shouldn't ask anywhere "more close to" the Board-Developers, cause I didn't want to bother you (and the other CE developers) with my topics

We do u-boot stuff too. I know how to keep the power on in u-boot. I just need to integrate an interrupt source.

For some reason I'm not able to get this to boot however I'm able to get Android to boot. I've tried a variety of different SD flashing tools and still getting the same results where this image just boot loops. Any Ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
I should also add that I have the switch set to SPI with an flashed SD card installed. I do not have an EMMC installed.

SPI switch is for petitboot. You set the switch to emmc. SD card boot will work then

Re: CoreELEC
Hi,
I'm about to place an order, but i'm new to SBC - this will be my first one. Really I only need kodi that can play 4k HDR files (my older NUC cannot). I have a few questions though
1 - What is the best way to install core elec - on a SD card or should I buy an emmc, wipe it and install on that?
2 - If i install android can I just install regular kodi from the play store - will it work just as well?
3 - In order to make sure I order everything I need, could you tell me if there is anything missing. I plan to buy - 1 x N2, 1 x clear case, 1 x remote control, 1 x US plug, 1 x emmc card (if needed from question 1), 1 x emmc writer (if needed from question 1). 1 x bluetooth adapter (for headphones). Am i missing anything? I have USB drives/SD cards already. Do I need to purchase the battery as well?
Many thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Re: CoreELEC
1. For coreelec, an sdcard should be enough
2. For Android you should consider the emmc. Slow sd cards will cause apps to force-close. Playstore kodi should work. If using the emmc you should get at least the 1.5$ emmc adapter to be able to reflash it.
3. Not sure if power supply and cables are two different items. Not sure if BT audio is supported by coreelec (should work on Android).

2. Android on Kodi has many limitation (only stereo audio out, no auto frame rate switch, SDR2HDR is always on, etc). If you want to use your N2 as a media player, then CE is strongly recommended.
3. Black case looks nicer.

A list of problems that I have with CoreELEC (latest test build) using a fresh image:
- transmission doesn't start (transmission-daemon.service is missing)
- uTorrent doesn't start (fail to connect to daemon)
- Docker doesn't start
Any thoughts on what could cause all these?

Transmission and uTorrent are not provided by us in our repo so you need to bug your addon developer.
Docker should work.

Regarding Docker ... I was able to execute systemctl start service.system.docker.service, but when I want to open the addon nothing happens.

Thanks for the advice all.
If I plan to put corelec on an emmc do I just buy the green android emmc and write corelec on to it using the emmc usb adaptor? If so, I presume the 8gb is plenty for corelec?

I bought an 8GB eMMC (I think I got the red dot, but it probably doesn't matter) and am running CoreELEC on it just fine. Just overwrote the pre-installed OS.

I have no experience of using a DVB tuner since there is no such broadcasting services in Korea.
Please share your test result.
BTW, is it using Tvheadend?

Re: CoreELEC
@odroid. We support VDR, TVheadend etc. TVH is the easiest for users to setup I think. We have a lot of users using TVH and DVB already and there is no issues. Only thing we noticed is this USB3 power issue that is causing USB sticks to fail with signal. I thing the user @rosenrot reported it here too.

Pretty cool isn't it.
Someone fitted a 128x32 OLED display in the official case too:

Those displays are supported out of the box with CoreELEC.

Re: CoreELEC
just try a bit your android rom with a good performance for the little development it has. I want to learn Linux with this great motherboard
elec is in beta but it works better than expected and the performance is brutal, thanks
I am testing the DVB USB tuner in an enigma2 decoder and it works. tomorrow I'm going to try it on the N2 (CE + tvheadend), I have a lot of hopes that it will work
