Can't boot into Batocera

Post by knutzone »

Hallo @all,

I want to try out Batocera Linux for the N2+ and flashed my SD-Card with Balena Etcher and also tried Raspberry Pi Imager, but unfortunately it isn't shown as boot option in the Petitboot (20220317) menu! Other systems like Debian or Ubuntu are running without problems from SD. Do I have to make any changes to any file (e.g. batocera-boot.conf) make it visible or even bootable?

I have another Linux PC and when I insert the SD these file are shown:

Thanks for any help!

Batocera wouls not boot from Petitboot so you must try after flipping the boot select switch to MMC so it boots from SD directly without Petitboot.

Ok, thank you, but what is with the other system on the installed eMMC? Can I change the boot sequence to prefer the SD or do I have to remove the eMMC?

eMMC has the higher boot priority so OS in eMMC will start when you have two OS in eMMC and SD card.

Oh, that's a great pity! Could it be maybe possible to let Petitboot recognize the Batocera SD?
