loving the poweramp music player btw. turns my odroid-n2 into an awesome stere0 system, besides being a top notch linux pc and gaming station.
the .img and website were both built solely on the n2. bad ass little sbc no doubt!
patiently awaiting the arrival of it's brand new bouncing baby brother the H2+

G'night peeps zzz

good image but it does not resize for bigger cards and a manual resize trashes the image. I'd like to do a video of it but cant until i can make use of my extra space

Yeah, I've tried with parted, gdisk, resiz2fs you know... Compatible with gpt. But the partition table still gets all jacked up for some reason. Won't boot, hangs at Android logo...at a dead end here. Hoping someone will come to my aid. You know how the community works. Why I love Android and Linux. Open source and just an amazing community period. Been working on a Linux project for the n2, really been focusing on that. But I am still trying to address the issues. My a.c. is broken and I just spent the last two days working on a solution. In like 100Β° heat, so..... I really want it right too brother believe me.

Anyway, wow... I was getting ready to post "tough crowd" before I seen this. Thank you for the feedback!!

You know I had an epiphany here. through my experience it's always easier just to reinstall the OS. That way you get all of your storage space and you can customize the look and feel. so that being said, and so I can get on with my Linux project + put this galv0nized behind me I'm going to set up a tutorial were just the average person can build the image from stock Android 9 (a lot faster than downloading it and flashing it and expanding the partition) Everything is already uploaded I just have to post a tutorial with the links. talk to you soon

Cheers!

Ok, first thing. Download base.img here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kPgvZq ... p=drivesdk
Flash to your large drive.

Next, all apps included are here:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... NxmEbdKo5G
First, install atv launcher and app drawer. But you will need everything in here download and install.

And, the emulators are here:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... et_T5l8HVD
download and install.

You have to install from the play store: Google play games, chrome, Gmail and Gdrive. I would recommend installing YouTube from there as well if you don't like the youtubetv.

But before we can do that we have to install Google play:
The file "update.zip" you downloaded from the "app" folder should already be in the downloads folder, run odroid settings, install update from downloaded file and point it to "update.zip" reboot and you have Google play.

Now, go to settings, apps and notifications, default apps, and make sure atv is set to default home app.

After that everything is asthetics... Set dark theme, choice of wallpaper, and customize the theme with launcher settings (long press)
And enabling the virtual keyboard that best suits your needs.

That's about it, enjoy

And, please let me know how this works for you.

Cheers! πŸ‘½

You lucky dog. I want an n2+ very bad. Just got my h2+ like 10 days ago and haven't had a chance to even put an eyeball on it let alone tinker with it.
The n2+ looks amazing, kudos to you my friend.

And, thank you for the feedback! :)

@galvatr0n.ver5 Dude, I want to give you a big sloppy wet kiss (in a purely fraternal fashion, of course.)

galv0nized is the first Android/ATV build that has functioned properly on any of My Odroid N2s. And not only that, it works right out of the box with any fiddling.

I've installed your build on the Odroid N2+ I got a few weeks ago but hadn't used. The install is on a 16GB eMMC, flashed using Balena Etcher. I had problems with the latest Linux x64 version of Balena Etcher, details and workaround are mentioned in the "Problems" section below. I also have some questions for you (and other forum members); it's the last section in this post.

While I also tested setting up a Google account and using the Play Store - which worked beautifully right out of the box on the vanilla galv0nized install - I actually ended up sideloading all the apps mentioned below without setting up a Google account (after a reformat-reinstall of my eMMC), by fetching the latest versions from the APKPure website.

Hardware tested, working beautifully right out of the box:
  • Realtek RTL8812AU 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Dual Band USB WiFi adapter. This is the "Wifi Module 5A" on Ameridroid.
  • Rii i8 Wifi mini-keyboard with trackpad (bought from Ameridroid)
Apps tested (all of these work flawlessly):
  • Netflix (the standard Android Netflix app, not the ATV-specific version which only works on "certified" devices)
  • Amazon Prime
  • Other apps which depend on a TV subscription also work (I tested the Science Channel app and the Food Network app).
  • VLC - including connecting to a share on my fileserver (another Odroid N2 box 8-) )
  • This awesome file manager from XDA called MiXPlorer.
Problems Encountered (and workarounds where applicable)
  • Using the latest (as of this writing) Linux x64 version of Balena Etcher, 1.5.108-x64, the flash to eMMC resulted in a non-bootable eMMC. An 8GB SD card did work fine with this version of Etcher.
    • The workaround for me, to get a bootable and working eMMC, as to use an older version of the Linux x84 etcher: 1.5.102-x64. For the non-bootable eMMC, I looked at it in GParted and the partitioning scheme seemed a bit odd, to say the least.
  • As already reported by qbertaddict (and verified by you), the image does not resize for bigger cards. Changing partition order, resizing etc all trash the image.
    • I will experiment more with this and see if I can get it working. Will report back if I can hack it to work.
  • No idea what the IR Remote configuration profile needs to be for this ROM - a standard media player profile as mentioned in this forum post does not work at all.
    • I will continue experimenting with this - at this point I am not sure whether the problem is the inbuilt IR port on the N2+, or a problem with the device profile being used in my remote (it's a Logitech Harmony 650). I have an FLIRC module I can use to test. Will report back if I get the IR remote working.
Questions:
  1. Do you know if this build is capable of using the hardware decoding capabilities of the S922X SoC for H.265? Last I had heard, this was only working in the Ubuntu Minimal and CoreElec images for the N2. Although there was some work going on to get it working in other OS versions, it had stalled the last time I checked the forum.
  2. In one of your previous posts, you had said
so I can get on with my Linux project + put this galv0nized behind me
    - will you continue to develop galv0nized, especially for newer Android versions?
  3. In that same post, you had said
Everything is already uploaded I just have to post a tutorial with the links
    - is this a Github repo or something similar where can all contribute by sending patches etc?
  4. On your website you had mentioned that you were looking for help with the self-install. Is this something in which you are still interested? I am willing to do some learning/R&D on self-install and applying it to galv0nized.
Thanks for all your hard work on this excellent ROM. Looking forward to that tutorial you were going to post. Many manly hugs to you, brother 8-D

First of all sorry for the late response. Secondly,
Thanks for the flowers bro' πŸ’
It means a lot.

The timing of your post is very ironic, imho galv0nized has seemed a bit dated to me for awhile now. I'm pleased to announce I have been hard at work on

"Galv0nized - 2nd Arrival"

And it is nothing short of amazing my friend.
Most up to date android pie 9 - very stable
Can overclock n2 or n2+ easily in settings
Fan set to always on - for n2+ users
This promises to be the most stable, functional, elegant, customizable, skinable and just flat out beautiful alternative for your n2/n2+
I have got a lot of time, cappuccinos and Reese's peanut butter cups invested into this one. Not to mention the medical grade. Gives me a creative flux that really makes all the difference. So, don't get too comfortable with Galv0nized just yet beast. 2nd Arrival absolutely annihilates it. Stay t00ned 🀘😝🀘

That is the tutorial to build the .img yourself and get full storage space. No need to make self booting if you follow that.

@galvatr0n.ver5 Thanks for your replies! Eagerly awaiting "Galv0nized - 2nd Arrival" :D

Also, thanks for the tutorial - I guess I didn't read your post correctly/fully because I thought that that was an installation post instead of a "roll your own" post - many thanks for the clarification, and apologies for me not being thorough enough in my reading.
