Is this lineage version 32bit or 64bit?
32bit
Aww, I was hoping for 64bit. The mobile version of Fortnite was compiled for ARM64 and won't run on a 32bit version of Android.
I believe the reason no 64 bit is available (on any rom, stock or otherwise) is that everyone / hardkernel is waiting on amlogic to finish drivers for that. :-/ so the devs aren't the holdup :-)

Great work man ... I gotten it running and zero stability issues so far that I could uncover (was a problem for me in the most recent stock image). Features are Great for such an early alpha. GREATLY APPRECIATED DEV !!! Let me know if you need any help with testing logs etc. J

Yes. I am also add "Shutdown without confirmation" option to next build.
This doesn't seem to work. Switch was Off but N2 kept shutting down. Turned it On and Off (switched system profile to "Automobile"), no difference - after certain time with no activity N2 shuts down without confirmation.

This feature does not prevent shutdown your board, this feature for enable/disable shutdown confirmation dialog.

I apologize for the obscure post ... I meant that N2 is shutting down without user interaction. (updated to the latest alpha) ... Tried 2 different power bricks.

UPDATE: Sleep was not set in Settings but probably there is some default setting (Sleep also turns N2 off - not in sleep mode) ... and no option "Never" :D ... I guess this is a LineageOS bug. The solution for me was to set "Stay Awake" in Dev options.

I am too (occasional restarts, that seem random). I would try the update Alpha-v0.7 that was just posted... that is what I will be doing :-)

Hello voodik. So following this message i decided to move to this Android version, installing the alpha 0.7 on my emmc. Unfortunately it seems i exchanged problems for others.

First i can't apply the OppenGapps update, i put the log here:
open_gapps_log.txt
(3.9 KiB) Downloaded 13 times
Then i can't access the ExpressVPN apk. I tried with the rj45 port and usb (via odroid module 3) and i have the same message:
IMG_20190916_230730.jpg
IMG_20190916_230730.jpg (35 KiB) Viewed 2091 times
(translation: Connection failed, Verify your connection and try again)

Any ideas what i'm facing ? (excepting my incompetence  )

Hi @marco,

1. for first if you need Gapps please install version with preinstalled opengapps.
https://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/S922X/ODRO ... eage-16.0/
then read first post how to register your Android framework ID.

2. Just installed ExpressVPN from play store. Everything working as expected.

I installed the latest with the Gapps and it's ok, i have an app which didn't work on the stock version running correctly. I score 2000 points more on Antutu, that won't change the world but i take it.

The bad news is that i still have the freeze/reboot combo and nothing changed with ExpressVpn. For the latter it must be a problem on my side i will investigate further with their support maybe they can help.

Thanks anyway for the work and the regular updates. I didn't have the opportunity to thank you but my XU4 works very well with your Android images.

Sorry for this repost, but I wanted to make sure voodik saw this:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Here are logcats from my last four random reboots, and also all the files in /data/tombstone. I'm on @voodik 0820 LOS build and experience at least one reboot a day. The logcats are being captured 24/7 by another computer via ADB, presumably in real time.

Please let me know how I can help troubleshoot. These reboots are really wearing on me.

I think this is first SBC running Android Q.
So people who have unused EMMC can test first pre-pre-alpha

Download selfinstall image fro Google Drive

Have a nice weekend :ugeek:

Hello all and thanks voodik for great rom.

For me, everything works great, except one boring thing

https://imgur.com/jhjaFL9
https://imgur.com/Tz6tHuH

this happens everytime I boot, and I am not sure would I format or not. Probably not cause everything works great.
So, is there any way I move it or stop it?

Bluetooth and audio input source making lot of logspam.
I will disable Bluetooth by default and make an option enable it from Odroid settings to reduce logspam.
Also i will try to find solution to reduce logspam from audio framework.
After this we will back to your issues with more clear logs.

Thanks voodik, just let us know when the new version is ready. Meanwhile I've post tons of new crash logcats at the link I shared earlier. The logs are running 24/7 so I'll just keep posting them.

Are there any other logs you'd like? For instance, I tried to do a continuous log with "adb shell cat /proc/kmsg > dmesg.log" but while that command works, the logging automatically stops after an hour or so, no idea why. If dmesg is useful to you, please advise on how I can continuously pull that log. Thanks much.

Does "TVHeadend" mean "TVHeadend-Server"?? Does the Kernel also have DVB-Drivers??
I mean would that work: https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/odroid ... uners/5014 (Internal DVB-Tuners)??
That would be GREAT!!

Thanks!

Yes, tvheadend i mean tvheadend server)

If drivers working under linux it could be work with android also. You can recimpile your own kernel. Or ask here i will include it in next builds.

For first time run from root terminal

Code: Select all

tvheadend -C
-C means first run for setup password/etc
Setup config, then make your tests, if everything ok.

just create "/vendor/etc/init/tvheadend.rc" file

Code: Select all

service tvheadend /vendor/bin/tvheadend -u root -g system -f
    user root
    group system
    disabled
    oneshot

on property:sys.boot_completed=1
    start tvheadend

Bluetooth and audio input source making lot of logspam.
I will disable Bluetooth by default and make an option enable it from Odroid settings to reduce logspam.
Also i will try to find solution to reduce logspam from audio framework.
After this we will back to your issues with more clear logs.
Hello voodik, any chance we can make progress on this? My setup is still randomly rebooting multiple times a day.

Voodik,

thanks for your tips concenring tvheadend.
I got the it running. Well i need to wait for the we-tek tuner to test finally.
But i have the problem that although the scipt is creted "tvh" diesn't start on boot.
I also can't see any entrie in dmesg or logcat about it. Well i checked the syntax several times.
Is it possible that there is still something to do with "selinux"??

Re: [ROM] LineageOS-16.0 for ODROID-N2

Unread post by benwillcox » Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:09 am

Hi, thank you for releasing this image. I thought I'd give it a try as an alternative to the official image to hopefully fix a few issues I've been having.

I have however encountered some new issues, and wondered if someone might have any ideas.
First of all, and this isn't really a big problem but just to mention, I'm using my 21:9 widescreen monitor to set this up, and it doesn't like this resolution (which is 2560x1080). After setting to a 16:9 resolution in Odroid Settings it's all fine. But maybe someone would like to use 2560x1080 if that's possible to make work.

I registered the device ID with Google play by downloading the Device ID apk using the browser. I wonder if there is a way to get this from the terminal? It probably would be quite useful to have the Terminal app installed by default if this is so, to make this process a little easier if that's possible?

I tried to force the rotation to landscape by adding ro.sf.defaultrotation to /vendor/build.prop but found that pressing ESC to get to vim command mode just actually closes the Terminal app. Is there a way to use the Escape key in vim?

But finally after installing the apps I want (Car Launcher Pro, Spotify, TomTom Go), upon booting up again I get 'Process system isn't responding', which then after a few seconds just goes to a blank screen, and I have to power cycle the Odroid. This happens on every boot.

Thanks,
Ben

I found that I can use nano, therefore I don't need to use ESC. However if I try and mount the file system rw so I can edit build.prop I get 'rootfs' not user mountable in fstab. Am I doing something wrong?

Also worked this out after reflashing my emmc and going step by step. If GPS is enabled in Odroid Settings but the GPS is not plugged in, then this problem occurs. There was some work done on the official ROM to solve an issue where multiple ACM devices break GPS functionallity, as the system doesn't know which ACM device is the GPS (as it randomly changes the assignment of ACM0, ACM1 etc on boot). Presumably this issue might also exist on this ROM. I think the fix was to enumerate each device at boot and assign the correct GPS device to /dev/gps based on the vendor ID of the GPS module. Is it possible to work around the same issue here?

Thanks!
Ben

From next version it will be available in Odroid Settings, you can copy it from there and register it via internal Browser.
Terminal app available on all Lineage ROM's, you can enable it from Developer Options> Local Terminal
Command for get GSF Android id from terminal is listed in Google uncertified device registration page.

Code: Select all

sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db "select * from main where name = \"android_id\";"
I found that I can use nano, therefore I don't need to use ESC. However if I try and mount the file system rw so I can edit build.prop I get 'rootfs' not user mountable in fstab. Am I doing something wrong?
You can remount /vendor or /system partitions via adb

Code: Select all

adb remount vendor
adb remount
or from root terminal

Code: Select all

bash
venrw
sysrw

Thanks for the reply and all the information :-)

One other thing I discovered (sorry for the issues!) is that it doesn't seem to correctly use the resolution I'm selecting. I'm using an RTD2662 based video board with 800x480 native resolution panel, but it can accept up to 1080p input resolution. When I choose 800*480@60p from the Odroid Settings menu and then reboot, it comes back up at a higher resolution with ODROID-VU5/7 now selected in the Odroid Settings menu. I don't seem to be able to get it to set to the resolution I choose.

Thanks,
Ben

ODROID-VU5/7 have same 800*480@60p resolution.

Manually edit /odm/boot.ini and set out mode dvi, autodetect false

Thank you. In fact I think I was mistaken and the resolution is correct, it's just that I'm used to a different DPI setting so it appeared to be a higher resolution. I will adjust the DPI setting to suit.

It seems to be working well on the whole, I did find an issue with the wifi which also originally affected the official ROM and got fixed - I'm using an RT5370N based wifi module and the wifi network scanning doesn't seem to refresh properly. For example, if I boot up the system and connect to my home wifi, all is well. If I then activate my mobile 3G wifi router and drive away from home (the Odroid is in my car), it never detects and connects to the new wifi point. If I go to wifi settings and look for networks, the list remains the same as when I was back at home, even though these access points are no longer in range. If I reboot the Odroid at this point it then automatically connects to my mobile 3G wifi straight away.

Thanks,
Ben

No, even switching wifi off then on again doesn't seem to find the new network, but after a reboot it will then connect straightaway.

Appears to be the same issue I found on the official ROM some months back: viewtopic.php?f=178&t=35321 which then got fixed in the update posted by codewalker in that thread.

Thanks,
Ben

Okay, i will try connect with codewalker to find root cause of wifi issue.

BTW, i am totally rewrite GPS HAL initialization. Now it almost plug and play. Device can be disconnected and connected while Android running and more..
Can you post your GPS dongle vid:pid?
If i post some test version can you make tests to find out some other GPS related issues ?

Okay, i will try connect with codewalker to find root cause of wifi issue.

BTW, i am totally rewrite GPS HAL initialization. Now it almost plug and play. Device can be disconnected and connected while Android running and more..
Can you post your GPS dongle vid:pid?
If i post some test version can you make tests to find out some other GPS related issues ?
Sounds great, hot plugging the GPS device would be a good improvement thank you!

My GPS is 1546:01a7 it's the same as the official Odroid one.

Yes would be very happy to test anything GPS related.

Just tested it. GPS indeed is hotpluggable now and working fine, and the WiFi scanning issue is also solved!

Many thanks for the quick resolution!

Just had a further test whilst driving my car with the GPS working. There is a strange characteristic to the GPS now, which I also noticed affected the official ROM at the last update, but I changed to LineageOS-16 before having chance to report it on the forums.
On this latest release, and the latest release of the official ROM, when using TomTom Go GPS Navigation app the realtime speed display no longer appears, and the app no longer automatically switches from the overview map to turn-by-turn directions when you start driving. In the previous LineageOS-16 release (0.7) and the previous official ROM version this problem does not exist.
So, perhaps something has changed with the output of the NMEA stream? I did load up the GPS Test app to see if anything had changed (as there was an old bug where the GPS time was incorrect), but can't see anything obvious.

Many thanks,
Ben
