kernel update on the way to address the missing touchscreen driver issue.

In about 1 hour you can:

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade

Thanks, I also tested rebuilding the packaged kernel with just a config patch:

Code: Select all

-# CONFIG_INPUT_TOUCHSCREEN is not set
+CONFIG_INPUT_TOUCHSCREEN=y
+CONFIG_TOUCHSCREEN_DWAV_USB_MT=m
Manually installed and rebooted. Touchscreen is working in Weston again.

The CPU fan doesn't spin, except once for less than 1 second.
This may be unrelated but I only noticed it after flashing with the kernel-6.1 image. I tried compiling a DTB with fan speed set to 220 for all levels, but I haven't confirmed that it is loaded yet.
Any recommendations for testing the fan independently?

Since I already rolled my own kernel, I will try enabling CONFIG_THERMAL_WRITABLE_TRIPS to debug the fan control.

Okay, my fault again..

+CONFIG_PWM_GPIO=y

Is missing on the kernel config.

That's my fan issues sorted. Should be able to switch back to a packaged kernel soon. :)

For verifying assumptions from testing with rtc timer:
Could You please give me an output from cat /proc/driver/rtc on this distro image? (Thx)
Sure, here's mine, no battery connected.
root@odroid:~# cat /proc/driver/rtc

How do I toggle power to the USB hub with k6.1?

Code: Select all

root@odroid:~# echo assert > /sys/devices/platform/gpio-reset/reset-usb_hub/control
-bash: /sys/devices/platform/gpio-reset/reset-usb_hub/control: No such file or directory

On kernel 6.1 I tested with usbreset application from usb-utils package.
root@kvm:~# usbreset
Usage:
usbreset PPPP:VVVV - reset by product and vendor id
usbreset BBB/DDD - reset by bus and device number
usbreset "Product" - reset by product name

Devices:
Number 002/002 ID 05e3:0620 USB3.1 Hub
Number 001/006 ID 046d:c52e USB Receiver
Number 001/005 ID 05e3:0610 USB2.1 Hub
root@kvm:~# usbreset 001/005
Resetting USB2.1 Hub ... ok
root@kvm:~#

That doesn't work for me. I tried toggling all devices. My USB device still has power.

Code: Select all

root@odroid:~# usbreset
Usage:
usbreset PPPP:VVVV - reset by product and vendor id
usbreset BBB/DDD - reset by bus and device number
usbreset "Product" - reset by product name

Devices:
  Number 002/002 ID 05e3:0620 USB3.1 Hub
  Number 001/002 ID 05e3:0610 USB2.1 Hub
  Number 001/003 ID 1a86:7523 USB2.0-Serial
root@odroid:~# usbreset 001/003
Resetting USB2.0-Serial ... ok
root@odroid:~# usbreset 001/002
Resetting USB2.1 Hub ... ok
root@odroid:~# usbreset 002/002
Resetting USB3.1 Hub ... ok

usbreset does not toggle power. Try uhubctl instead (https://github.com/mvp/uhubctl), though it may turn off the whole hub. I use it to power off some speakers attached to the microusb port on N2.
