[SOLVED] H2+ no signal HDMI and DP

Post by damufo »

H2+ Rev B+ GLK2005J00452

No displayport and no hdpi port work, no signal.

Blue (3) and red(4) led working.

Remove battery and wait 10 minutes not work.

How can I know if the problem is in the video output, in the ram memory or in the cpu without having access to the video?

Any solution?

If your OS booted fine while only the HDMI/DP didn't work, you could access the system via Ethernet SSH.
Of course, the board's SATA or NVMe indicator LED will blink during booting.
If there is no sign of the OS or BIOS booting, your CPU or DRAM might be damaged by uncertain electrical shock instead of the HDMI/DP parts.

What happens if you press the power button on your H2+ board?

Hello:

Access via ssh is not possible.
It has debian 10 and was updating the kernel which has no support for the network, so once updated I need to access with screen to load the drivers.
And of course, the screen doesn't go, it doesn't give the signal.

Network lights do not turn on.

Last November I bought an h3 which is working properly.

To know if it could be the ram module that is damaged, can I try the Samsung 8GB DDR4 PC4-25600 SO-DIMM ram in this h2+?

Very thanks.

Right. You can narrow down root causes like that.

Hello:
Add video (edited first post) no poweroff is possible, alwais restart.
I tried a Samsung 8GB DDR4 PC4-25600 SO-DIMM RAM module and the problem persists.
No video signal.
No light on the network ports.
What else can I try to do?
Very thanks.

Judging by the video you posted, it looks like the CPU or the part that supplies power to the CPU is broken.
In that case, there is nothing more you can do. It's still a mystery how the hardware got damaged permanently during the OS update.

Another possibility is that the Flash memory where the BIOS is stored has been erased accidentally.
Although the topics linked below are nearly 3 years old, they are still worth referencing.

Hello, thanks for your help.

I removed the storage drives.
I tried a live version of Debian (USB)
I changed the RAM to that of the H3
And continuing without video, ethernet no led working.

Just when I was about to give up, I thought of trying the H3's 19V power supply, it's an old laptop power supply, the H2+'s is yours at 15V and 4A (Odroid powe suply).
I disconnected one and connected my 19v and just then a second blue light came on next to the red one, the video appeared and so did the BIOS!!
The mysterious thing is that then, I removed the changes starting by putting the RAM of the H2+, then I mounted then I put the 15V and 4A power again and finally everything was the same as it was and the video continues to work.
It's like when you connect the 19 volts something was unlocked and the energy started to flow.
Long story short, the device came back to life and I have no idea what happened.
I upgraded from Debian 10 to 11 and from Debian 11 to 12, everything work fine ๐Ÿ™‚.

Very thanks for your work and time!!

It's still a bit of a mystery, but I'm glad your H2+ board survived finally. :D
