[SOLVED] h3+ fail

Post by xcc23 »

Hi Hardkernal

As per my email my H3+ failed yesterday, it has been working non stop for 1year but yesterday I heard a loud pop / bang and it stopped. the heatsink was very hot and I could smell something burnt.

#HK2211073867

if you can confirm the RMA process as i am pretty sure it is a hardware failure.

Thanks

Do any leds still turn on when you plug it in? Any burned marks on the underside? If yes, please post a picture to better understand what failed.

And more importantly, what was the power source?

I feel like the power supply would be the most likely thing to have popped.

Which power supply have you used with your H3+?
Also check the LED status and let us know.

Hi All - Sorry been away for work.

To confirm yes it was the power supply, initially I never even thought to swap it out as the small appeared to come from the device but the area was enclosed hence me assuming the burnt smell was the device. Ordered new PS and it all boots up fine.

Thanks all.

Hardkernel original? Which one?
Or a 3rd party one?
