Port mutliplier not working on H3
Hi, I got my H3 today. Basically it was a smooth transition from H2+ but the second SATA disc on port multiplier is not recognized anymore. The same port multiplier device did work with Odroid H2+ for a long time without problems. To be sure I switched the SATA connections between the two drives and the other drive is recognized (only one drive is recognized). With the term "recognized" I don't mean shown in BIOS - the second drive was never shown in bios SATA drive list (also on H2+). But Ubuntu could recognize it when booting and mount it. And I could see it in gparted afterwards. Currently it seems to be random which of the two drives connected to the SATA port multiplier is recognized by OS. But it is always only one of the two. I have booted several times, sometimes the drive on the first port is recognized and sometimes the second drive.
I played around with SATA settings in BIOS but up to now that did not change anything.
Device is this one:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07V2Z ... UTF8&psc=1
It is based on JMB575 (I think all the 5 Port Multipliers are) - It's called ADP5ST0-J02 - seem's to be another one which is called ADP6ST0-J05
What other information do you need?
I have installed the latest BIOS 1.08
Basically that device should be similar to what you used by yourself with H2 (optically it pretty much looks like it's the same):

Based on you comment here it should work:

Thank you for the update. Is this an H3 only issue or are both H3 and H3+ affected?

I tested the new Bios 1.09, but the problem is not solved there. Up to which version does the multiplier work? Maybe I will downgrade temporary

Downgrade will not help. We are working on it to implement the PortMultiplier drivers in the BIOS.

We are still trying to find a solution.
We also reported the issue to Intel and the BIOS vendor.

Re: Port mutliplier not working on H3
Any progress on that? Currntly the H3 is pretty much useless in terms of NAS with more than 2 disks. Even if one disc is recognized at start this is not stable at all when running Ubuntu. Only workaround at the moment is to remove the port multiplier and use SSD drive via USB but that's not something I would like to do with system drive. So currently H2+ is way better solution for NAS compared to H3 or H3+.

Re: Port mutliplier not working on H3
Really sorry about that.
We've spent a lot of resource to fix the C-state and ACPI problems in the past several weeks.

It seems to be settled down and we will more focus on the SATA PM issue.
We are working on the SATA PM issue with Jmicron, Intel and BIOS vendor.
But their responses have been quite slow.
We will try finding other solutions in parallel.
At this moment, you need to use a M.2 to SATA add-on card to connect several SATA storage devices.
