H2+ only NVME boot option after Firmwareupdate

Post by Hardoncollider »

I tryed to install different x86 based Android Versions. Not a single Bootloader would start.
Then I successfully updated the Bios Firmware to the latest Version..... now the only drive it shows in the boot option menue is the NVME drive. I tryed different usb drives and ssd's... nothing shows up. If the Problem is software related... I cant even change my Bios version anymore.
Any advice before I waste hours, remove the NVME ssd and try throwing somthing on it that wont work and the H2+ ends up beeing completly dead? btw, it actually runs batocera.

H2+ can boot from any UEFI compatible boot media.

Make a Window 10 or Ubuntu 22.04 bootable USB disk and try it to test your hardware.

Thanks for the fast respont.
Yes, I know it should boot. But my problem is that it doesn't. I tried Ubuntu, Windows 10, Windows 11... all on different usb drives that all worked before on this H2+ and still do on other PC's. I can even see the usb drives and their description in the Bios usb menue, I can access the drives from batocera... everything is fine. I just get no other boot option in Bios than #1 wich is NVME ssd and in the boot select menue there is nothing else than this one single NVME that I could add. absolutly nothing, wich is... pretty sure, not normal.

Try resetting any possible wrong BIOS settings.

1. Turn off your system and remove the DC power plug
2. Remove the RTC/BIOS backup battery
3. Wait 10 minutes
4. Connect the RTC/BIOS backup battery
5. Turn on your system
6. You might need to wait ~10 minutes for the first fresh BIOS self booting process
7. Check your bootable media in BIOS

So... that didn't work either. I ripped the nvme ssd out now and completly wiped it. now as long as the nvme ssd is empty it automaticly boots into the bootable usb stick. still no boot options selectable in bios. anyways, i can change my OS now... though in a very clumsy way with alot of disassembling, but still better than having nothing at all.

Very weird.
Did you try USB 2.0 as well as USB 3.0 ports?
