Power button behavior

Post by Vasya »

1. Does the power button send a signal to the OS immediately when the OS is running? No any reaction (Ubuntu 20.04 TLS).
2. What happens if I press the power button for about 4 seconds - correct shutdown or abnormal shutdown?

On conventional motherboards, a short pressing of the power button leads to a correct shutdown and a long pressing (about 4 seconds) leads to an abnormal shutdown.

A short press will typically bring up the shutdown menu or you can power down gracefully. A long press will forcefully stop the system

1. Yes.
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 too.
If I pressed the power button on the H2 board shortly, there was a pop-up window for asking "cancel/poweroff/reboot" on the Gnome desktop screen.

2. Abnormal shutdown.
