In case this helps... I had two major issues with VNC under Ubuntu 18.04.2 with H2
Sharing here if anybody finds it useful:
1. The forced encryption with the Ubuntu VNC server doesn't let you log in.
To fix this, simply disable the encryption, but there's no easy way to do this with the installed GUI options.
This fix is sourced from https://www.hagensieker.com/wordpress/2 ... ntu-18-04/
Open Ubuntu Software and install:
Open the app,
Now navigate to:
ORG > GNOME > DESKTOP > REMOTE ACCESS
Then find the “Require Encryption” setting and toggle it off:
Fastest terminal fix:
Thanks to crashoverride
2. If no HDMI device attached, after restarts the VNC client connects to a blank screen
Found this as a solution: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1033436 ... y-attached
But only required to create the file... open a Terminal and paste the below
Code: Select all
echo " Section \"Device\" Identifier \"intelgpu0\" Driver \"intel\" Option \"VirtualHeads\" \"2\" EndSection " > "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf"
It actually even runs smoother with this!
