H2+ M.2 NVMe Corruption upon Power Cycles

Post by Cryobuilt »

I have built an H2+ using an Intel M.2 NVMe (MEMPEK1W032GAXT)). I am running ubuntu 20.04 and everything is working and seems to be stable. The issue comes with external power cycles/outages this appears to corrupt the ssd and requires a rebuild of the drive. I am using this setup as a headless datalogger for remote equipment. The data is not stored locally but read and pushed out to an AWS database every 5 seconds. What are some possible work arounds to protect my build from unplanned power outages?

UPS, unless of course you can predict when said outages are going to occur.

In all seriousness a power outage should not corrupt a file system to the point you need to "rebuild" the drive. What indications that you have to rebuild ?

What filesystem are you using? Jow does fsck behave when booting after a power failure? Are you using full disk encryption?

Try disabling all 6 PCIe lanes De-emphasis option.
