[solved - doh!] odroid-go libs installed but no board selectable...

Unread post by codifies » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:35 am

I've even deleted everything arduino related and tried installing from scratch

I followed the Linux instructions here https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid_go/ardui ... uino_setup

I can add the ODROID-GO library to a project and I get

Code: Select all

#include <odroid_go.h>
however when I try to change the target board (tools/board) I see no odroid or even anything esp32 related....

I'm using Arduino 1.8.5 as the wiki doesn't seem to say anything about sdk versions .....

to be honest I loath the lousy Arduino IDE (I have several devices that require different versions of the same library for example and its just a PITA !!) and I'd rather use the command line and a simple text editor, so I may yet just install the official esp32 sdk and just use that.....

ok the wiki could be a tiny bit clearer I thought the links at the top where links to the different platform sections....

I now realise that you have to install the arduino esp32 stuff first, and the library stuff is just support libs for the go specifics....

I think you can be confused enough. So I have added a warning to the wiki.

Thank you.

yeah, that does make it clearer that its a specific first step rather than a set of links further into the same page (as I assumed)
