I noticed that they have no instructions for installing the mali-400 drivers on the Arch Linux ARM website. Do they exist for Arch? If not, are there any plans to compile them for Arch?

Oh, there aren't any mali drivers for ALARM because they are using a much newer kernel than the other OSs. I guess we have to wait for a whole recode (dunno how much has to be changed to upgrade the module to the newer kernel) to stuff those drivers into the newer kernel...

also, the X2 image works fine on Odroid-U2 as well. I've replaced the original kernel package with the one named linux-odroid-u2, but haven't noticed any difference - hard to tell if it was even necessary :)

Hi sorry for not getting back.

Yes I followed those instructions.I posted here also, I explain the problem and what i have done more here
http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5130

Could repeat here but dont really want to start a gigantic cross post more than i already have. Will edit that post to link here if this thread goes somewhere ;)

I installed the hdmi part and xorg etc. Seems like there is no mali driver for this version fo the kernel - but i could well be talking crap there. I can;t remember how i reached that conclusion now.
I have linaro on it atm working fine ... would love to get arch on it though.

If this helps at all to get HDMI working for you.

Om my x2 I had to modify the /etc/X11/xorg.conf, changing Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb6"

Could need a different fb? on your ?

Hope ya get it working.

cheers ;) Glad someone has got it working so i know its just me lol.

my xorg.conf looks like this

Section "Device"
identifier "HDMI"
Driver "fbdev"
Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb6"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
identifier "Default Screen"
Device "HDMI"
EndSection

also

[root@alarm ~]# fbset -fb /dev/fb6

mode "1920x1080"
geometry 1920 1080 1920 1080 16
timings 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0
endmode

however native res of my monitor is 1920x1200
So i have been trying to figure out how to set one of the fbdevs to that res (as none are by default .. /dev/fb5 reports busy) ... and failing at it hard.

Any ideas?

Resolutions other than 1080p and 720p through HDMI are not supported by hardware.

Ok - cool, so fiddling with the actual fb's of device isn't the answer.

But so why then is linaro working fine on it? The monitor supports 1080p and 720p perfectly fine. It's as if the set display mode message for the monitor isn't being sent.

Hi,
Changing the subject, does anyone know how to get the GPIO working under Archlinux on the X2?
There is no /sys/class/gpio directory.
I can't find any reference to this situation either.

Thanks,
Alistair

You need to modify the kernel configuration as below link.

For those interested in Arch on the X2... there is great support with latest kernel (without graphics) or modified Kernel 4.9 (with graphics) it seems via the Archlinuxarm project. See:
https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv ... /odroid-x2

To get it to work I had to change a few minimal things as my main computer runs on Ubuntu. First of all I had to compile and install this: https://github.com/helotism/helotism/issues/8
Then I had to modify the first line of "sd_fusing.sh" from #!/usr/bin/bash to #!/bin/bash (and later back in the second eMMC step)
Note that you can't seem to ssh into it directly as root@'IP' but you rather have to first ssh in as alarm@'IP' and then you can switch to root.

There is also an install script for the graphics supported Kernel 4.9 here: https://github.com/ztombol/odroid-tools ... nux-odroid
but I wanted to rather have the latest 4.12 without graphics support as I am using my X2 as a headless server.
