That depends on the OS you're using.
On my Debian based images you can simply install it as the header packages are available.
If you use Ubuntu image from hardkernel, there are no header files.
Either you import my repository, manually delete the Kernel from HardKernel and install mine,
or you download the Kernel sources from HardKernels github webpage and use this as substitude (means you have to build the Kernel first and then use it as your headers)

Well as I said.. you don't have Kernel headers on that image.. either you have to use mine or you have to build it yourself.

That's the issue, it's noting that can be done "easily".
Either you do a git clone of the hardkernel repository and then go through the entire process of building a Kernel for the ODROID X2,
Or you have to manually remove the Kernel from HardKernel add my repository to the image and install the Kernel, which is also not very simple as you have to delete the Kernel you're currently running on, means you can't restart the system until it's fixed or it won't boot anymore.

KC7NOA wrote:sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

This doesn't work, as the ubuntu image does not have Kernel Headers for your Kernel version, and my Kernels are named differently than the ones form HardKernel.

KC7NOA wrote:I already down loaded the repository, i just dont know how to manipulate it ..

I'm not sure what you mean by "downloaded the repository" you do not download the repository you only need to place a repository list (all/X2) in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ folder and import my repository certificate.
There is nothing that needs to be "manipulated".

That's actually described on the HOWTO site in my signature:
Code: Select all
sudo -s
cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
wget https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/sources.lists/meveric-all-X2.list
wget https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/meveric.asc -O-| apt-key add -
apt-get update

After that you need to cleanup /boot and make sure that only the boot.scr file is present in that folder means you have to delete manually all the Kernel files from HardKernel in that folder.
When that is done you can install my Kernel packages:
Code: Select all
apt-get install linux-headers-armhf-odroid-x2 linux-image-armhf-odroid-x2

that is /media/boot not /boot
These are different.
But it looks like hardkernel uses boot.ini now instread of boot.scr not sure if this works in every cases.

Code: Select all
make odroidx2_defconfig
make zImage modules

If you want to install the Kernel you also have to do a
Code: Select all
sudo cp arch/arm/boot/zImage /media/boot
sudo make modules_install
kver=`make kernelrelease`
sudo cp .config /boot/config-${kver}
cd /boot
sudo update-initramfs -c -k ${kver}
sudo mkimage -A arm -O linux -T ramdisk -a 0x0 -e 0x0 -n initrd.img-${kver} -d initrd.img-${kver} uInitrd-${kver}
