Cloudshell2 Drive Corruption

Reposting on new topic.

I've removed all the drives and reformatted them into a Synology, however, I have a SSD and HDD ready to insert into the device to walk though any further debugging or hoops required to get a new LCD/Sata bridge board.

Hi, I have a similar issue, pretty much since after a month setting up the Cloudshell2 NAS, the system would spray errors on the display and the drive would not auto mount. High level, the system repeatedly messes up hard drives, I have 8 different SD cards where i have set up different permutations of Ubuntu and I have exchanged out 6 sets of hard drives, ranging from 8TB (each) to 120GB.

I've spent A LOT of time ... rebuilding systems, and moving drives around. When I attached them to a Synology or Ubuntu host machine, I am able to recover the drive. I have had to learn a lot about setting up Linux, partitioning, formatting, scripting (to automate the shell setup I like) and what not, but I am super sad that I have this clear cool Cloudshell2 that is super unstable. The first issue which helped was the advice to clean the USB ports with alcohol, which I have since done a dozen times. Anyway, here are my various outputs at this dropbox URL.

Which OS image do you use?
Did you try this image?

Can you show us "dmesg" and "lsusb -t" outputs when you meet the disk corruption issue?
Do you use a RAID mode?

I do not use RAID, I use PM only. The above URL has all the dsmesg and lsbusb outputs. I have prepared a sata 120 GB SSD, a sata 1.5 TB HDD, and 4TB USB drive to run any operation you would like me to.

While I have installed minimal image, I really like using timeshift which requires a bunch gtk stuff. And frankly I didn't think it would matter given the low-level issues, that is to say, I don't really use HDMI or UX mode, but would like to if I wanted to. What next please.

If the CS2 board cable connection is fine, you should find something like this one from lsusb -t output.

I think there seems to be a cable connection problem.
Did you plug the USB cable into USB3.0 host on your XU4?
Do you have another USB 3.0 cable?

I've cleaned the connectors a bunch of times and I do have another USB 3.0 cable, which I will install now.

I agree, it was awesome troubleshooting. I would however add that the cable was provided as part of the Cloudshell2 kit, and to not be able to trust this component is itself disheartening. However, I learned a lot by going through troubleshooting and I would do it again. Maybe.
