LCD screen not working correctly

Unread post by cadelle » Tue Jan 22, 2019 8:03 am

I've had my odroidxu4 with cloushell2 for some time now, well over a year and it has been working fantastic as a NAS with OMV 3.x

Recently I installed the newest version of OMV and updated the kernel as well and now the LCD is not displaying properly. It just displays my disk utilization and r/w speeds. I've tried to remove using sudo apt-get remove cloudshell-lcd and the re-installing with sudo apt-get install cloudshell-lcd but this did not help.

Wondering if there is any known issue with new version of OMV or perhaps with newer kernel? I'm currently running OMV 4.1.17 with kernel 4.14.87. I guess it doesn't really matter if the LCD doesn't work but it is nice to be able to glance at it and see how much space is available.

Cheers!

Yes that's probably because of the newer kernel I think, I have made my own LCD info screen and will spread it to the public soon if you want that

Hi @cadelle,

I've just tested the script by the APT repository, with OMV 4.1.17 with kernel 4.14.87. It looks working normally on my end.
It displays the current datetime, kernel version, distro, and its version, network status, etc.

Please see the attachment.

How it works weird for you? Does it show nothing excepts only the disk statuses?
Then, could you try put this code out directly by yourself?
https://github.com/hardkernel/cloudshel ... dshell-lcd

Edit this file after backup-ing the previous one,

Code: Select all

$ sudo mv /bin/cloudshell-lcd /bin/cloudshell-lcd.bak
$ sudo vi /bin/cloudshell-lcd
$ sudo chmod a+x /bin/cloudshell-lcd
$ reboot
This still doesn't show the current network bandwidth but shows most of the supported components.
I will update the script code, with your feedback if possible. :)

I updated that script to fix showing ethernet speed. Now it seems it displays all the components normally. :)
