3.5 inch LCD assembly bug

Unread post by Laokoon » Wed Mar 08, 2017 6:33 pm

Hi Odroid,

Recently I've bought one of this cute displays and have an issue with it. It looks like a touch screen is constantly pressed in the middle of lower edge which causes cursor to move automatically to this point. The problem is the way that the screen panel is mounted on the top of PCB. There's a thick black foam that keeps the screen on place but it's placed over the top of the female header's goldpins. This means that this part is about 1 mm higher than the surface of PCB. Even if the foam is very plastic it causes the screen to slightly bend in the place where the header ends (= the middle of lower edge of the screen). I suggest to modify the way that the foam is located or the part of foam over the header should be thinner.
This post is no matter of repairing my LCD, I've done it on my own.
