I just updated and it seems to be working fine, but my CEC setting vanished. They are greyed out, so no CEC settings and my option button stopped working.

Never mind. A fresh install cured it.

wrxtasy - I wonder why /lib/modules/.../usb/serial is almost empty in your latest builds. The august build had much more serial USB modules. Is this on purpose?

I'm unfamiliar with LE image build process - what determines which files are taken from the linux package?

I played around with my sisters Sony TV whilst on holidays and had to go into its Bravia Sync settings and set "Normal" otherwise I would get double HDMI-CEC and IR button pressing issues.

Failing that just Blacklist the meson_ir module from loading on boot:

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist meson_ir" > /storage/.config/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
It seems that rodhul and you are completely right. Bravia KDL-40W705C remote is working with IR sensor on C2, hence the double action :D

I will try blacklist IR on home, but simply covering sensor helped as a quick fix. But bloody hell it is sensitive, to get the signal under the couch...

The August build was using the old HardKernel S905 Kernel and its associated unique Kernel config.
The last few LE's are using the common LE AML S905 v3.14 Linux Kernel and its associated "trimmed" down Kernel config. Consequently some Modules that were previously Kernel enabled are not anymore to align with common S905 WeTek Hub / Play2 hardware.
Serial USB's for example can be re-added if needed.

Its the linux.aarch64.conf file in the individual LibreELEC projects folders that determines the Kernel build.

I still cant modprobe pwm-meson and pwm-ctrl modules, it shows "module not found in directory /lib/modules/3.14.29"

Thanks for the explanation - so I need to get my ch341 module back in image is to change to "m" this:
https://github.com/wrxtasy/LibreELEC.tv ... conf#L2887

Maybe it would be a good idea to have some more driver modules - they are not so big. Serial USBs for example

@jurand & @mnsk,

I added the ch341 serial driver as a module to the Kernel config and also patched back in HardKernels original pwn_meson code into the new Kernel. The pwm_meson and pwm_ctrl modules now show up when modprobed.

Use the LE-7.1.2_CH341_PWM.tar update from the following folder once it finishes uploading:

Great news, I'll test it asap.

By the way - december branch in your git does not build succesfully - patches for u-boot, RTL8812AU and some other fail to apply. Which branch / commit would be best to try?

EDIT:
The ch341/PWM build is quite small, isn't it?

EDIT2:
I got SYSTEM MD5 checksum error

December Github code is a bit of a mess, I just threw it up there for personal reference purposes before going on holidays. It does not contain the HardKernel sideported Kernel PWM patches anyway.

The PWM.tar update did not completely upload for some reason. It has now if you wanted to give it another go.

It looks like that since 7.1.1 3D MVC is broken. The last working one ist the 7.1.0.On.Of. The TV switches on MKV/MVC correctly to 3D but the picture is flat without deep and popouts. SBS 3D is still working proper.

Good news then.
I'm really scratching my head as to why the Kodi HDMI-CEC Adapter is not working, never touched that code. That and this annoying MAC address changing are the next on the Hit list to investigate....as well as to see what has changed for 3D with the new AML S905 Kernel...

For me the adapter is working perfectly, but it's just none of the parameters can be changed (which isn't an issue since I have seen nothing that I need to alter). Thanks for your work! On a side note, do you know if the frame rate patches you applied to fix the FF/RW issues will be included in the official LE? I posted the problem on their forum but received plenty of views but no replies. Seems we get better support here for the community-based editions...

All the "Good Stuff" for much improved AML Video Sync Timing and decoding as well as better deinterlacing performance is found in Raybuntu's 32bit Kodi Krypton releases.

The AML LE Kodi dev. @peak3d's Kodi and AML Kernel patches are in that version. I expect they will also turn up in the official AML LE Kodi Krypton version as well.

I will have a look at the Kernel patches Raybuntu is using and compare and see if anything can be throw in for a future test version if people are having issues. Raybuntu's current Krypton needs to be used first for FFWD/RWD testing and report such problems in his thread.
We are using those releases to test Krypton before code makes it into official C2 LibreELEC AML Kodi Krypton.

Tvheadend works here (media edition). But Hyperion doesn't. Other builds - everything works, except tvheadend.
Is there any build (any LE version) where I can use it9135 dvb-t tuner and hyperion?

Upgraded to this from 7.0.2, fixed an issue where 1080p movies were "tiling" instead of playing full screen intermittently.

We leave the c2 unit on so that it can scan and update our media library (stored on 2 NAS units) when we're not using the device, However when we come back to watch media a day or more later the c2 is usually hung up and requires a power reset to use.

Don't know if web server and ssh are down as it's working right now... :P Will try to remember to test that next time

Equipment in play
Odroid C2 w/16GB microSD card
Pioneer VSX823-K surround sound unit
Vivitek D530 DLP projector
D-link DNS323 NAS (rev 1.09 firmware)
Zyxel NSA320 NAS (latest firmware)
D-Link DIR-655 (latest firmware 2.11NA)
Airport Extreme Basestation in bridge mode (latest firmware)

Have a variety of media files in various containers and encodings

Just have the Fonz fun plug, plan on moving the drives from both NAS machines to a computer running open media vault

hi @all,
I'm trying to setup hyperion with adalight - for hardware acceleration I added an amlgrabber entry to the config (like explained here somewhere else) but I'm getting an error:
AMLOGICGRABBER ERROR: Failed to retrieve video state from device: Invalid argument

So - does anyone have tips for me? :-)

7.1.1 issue when skipping 10 or 30 seconds, screen goes black for a second.
Then when playing after the skip the video freezes for a few seconds.

Maybe you used an invalid argument? :)
Show us your hyperion.config. Maybe it would be better to switch to "Hyperion - problems and hints" thread.

LibreELEC 7.1.2 - a No Lirc PreRelease

This version is for those that have a C1/C2 or Harmony programmed C1/C2 remote control and are sick of the Mini delay that occurs whenever you first press a remote button. The C2 remote control is now more responsive using Amremote only. IR Lirc is removed completely.

Initial OTA TV streaming startup is quicker, as is TV channel switching.

Known ongoing issues with AML LE Kodi Jarvis are chapter skipping during video playback may be unreliable.

Yes the LE dev. server is down for everyone it seems :(

Anyway played around a bit today and decided to put out a AmRemote & Media Build .tar update.
I've tested with my Sony PS3 PlayTV dibcom 0700 DVB-T Dual Tuner, which is working well with the TvHeadend v4.2 server :)

Works for me on my iMac with El Capitan.

Use the Chrome Browser and the Mega extension from the Chrome store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/mega?hl=en

Edit it appears the LibreELEC member server is back up and running, I will upload it there as well...Standby for the Link.....

edit:

@wrxtasy:

Can I update (7.1.1.Dec.fixed.img.gz) directly to (7.1.2.No.Lirc.tar) ?

Or do I have to update (7.1.1.Dec.fixed.img.gz) with (7.1.2.tar) "first" ..?

Cheers!

** I have another C2 that I loaded "dec fix" then regular 7.1.2.tar on it, runs beautifully. Just need to see "feel" the differences of the 'no.lirc' ..

@wrxtasy:

Hi,

I've decided to switch from debian & my own compiled kodi to your LibreElec build. But there is one part that is missing and this is the "STK1160 USB video capture support" driver in the Kernel. I'm using it to capture my tv output signal for hyperion. Any chance to get it included in your build?

This STK1160_COMMON module is very likely already in the Media Build version of LE 7.1.2 as the Crazy Cat media_build drivers would have it included.

For normal LE builds you would have to enable this yourself: (CONFIG_VIDEO_STK1160_COMMON=m)

@wrxtasy do we lose the overclock settings for ram and cpu after update?

I just got my minix a2 lite remote and it works like a charm except I realized you mentioned somewhere that it can't be used to power on the C2, is there any way to get it to work in the future?
I know C2 doesn't consume much power when idle but I prefer to have it turned off and I thought by getting the minix remote I can consolidate my keyboard and original HK C2 remote but seems like I still have to use the HK remote just to power it on.

No this update does not touch the boot.ini settings. Everything remains as before.
Not sure about RAM Overclocking, you would have to rerun the script ./ram to check.

As for MINIX Lite IR support for OFF / ON. That will not happen because it needs to be coded into U-Boot and that would then break C1/C2 and Harmony programmed IR remotes if it were changed.
Fiddle with the HDMI CEC settings in Settings > System > Input > Peripherals > CEC Adapter
and configure the C2 to sleep and wakeup when the TV is switched OFF/ON.

ok rerun the script and ram was back to default 912, set to 1104 again now

No worries I can live with using lots of remotes
I can't remember which version I'm using now (I think r5p1 tar) but CEC doesn't work, it worked before with Oct on off tar I think, as in when I turned C2 on, my avr would turn on too.
I tried fiddling with CEC settings like devices to power on during startup: amplifier/avr device, but turning on C2 doesn't turn on my avr
I've also tried When the tv is switched off: Shutdown, turning off avr doesn't turn off C2
I dont' find any settings called When the tv is switched on

I don't use a TV but a projector, so C2 - avr - projector
At the moment I need to turn on each devices using 3 different remotes

Is there anyway that the C2 can "sleep and wake" with this remote: http://ameridroid.com/products/24ghz-wi ... mote-black

Obviously it uses a USB dongle, so once the unit is powered off, it needs to be turned back on with this remote: http://ameridroid.com/products/ir-remote-control

@wrxtasy

I've checked it again. the stk1160 driver is not part of your version of Media Build LE 7.1.2.

Honestly, no idea. You would have to ask Ameridroid themselves if the IR function on that remote can Turn the C2 - OFF / ON like the official C1/C2 IR remotes can do.

And once you find out, ask them to post that sort of important info on the Webpage for that remote control. ;)

No worries, I'm used to multiple remotes. I rarely turn it off anyhow. Only once in a while, and that's usually just to amuse myself. ;)

But yeah, the sleep and wake function is all on the OS side... nothing to do with remotes.

Cheers!
