Disabling CEC doesn't work
I am trying to get ARC and CEC to work in my system, but my Odroid C2 with a Libreelec version Raybuntu-17 keeps disturbing it. I have disabled CEC under peripherals, but it seemingly doesn't care about that.
When I turn on my receiver, the Odroid also turns on and when I try to switch to my PS4's input with my receiver, the receiver detects the Odroid instead, turns that on and switches to that input instead.
How do I turn CEC completely OFF? I can read something about a boot.ini file modification. If that's the case, how do I do it?
Would another solution be to buy a HDMI adapter without pin 13, so the CEC part won't be sent?

Do this over SSH
Edit /flash/boot.ini
After saving:
Code: Select all
mount -o remount,rw /flash
Code: Select all
setenv hdmi_cec "0"
Code: Select all
sync
mount -o remount,ro /flash
reboot

Thanks. I ended up just plugging the MMC card into a PC and edited the boot.ini there. Is there a difference between that and the SSH way? WHat exactly is it the SSH command "mount -o remount,rw /flash" does?

There is no difference. That command remounts storage read/write as it is read only by default.

Great. After disabling cec on the Odroid, ARC/Simplink now doesn't work at all between the TV and receiver as the receiver doesn't turn on anymore. Last attempt will be to buy a cec-less adaptor I think.

Have you been into the CEC settings of Kodi? There are options to disable automated input switching and such.

Re: Disabling CEC doesn't work
Yes under peripherals I have set to it everything imaginable but it always starts automatically and hijacks the receiver. And now when cec is disabled via the boot.ini, the odroid somehow interferes with simplink and the receiver doesn't turn on automatically when I turn on the TV. When I unplug the Odroid's Hdmi cable, simplink works again...

I will try ARC later and see if I experience the same thing, but ARC is already not dependable on my TV.

Re: Disabling CEC doesn't work
Just tried it with an 8 year old Onkyo receiver and that produced exactly the same results as the new Denon receiver, so the Odroid definitely messes with ARC/Simplink/CEC. Will buy a lindy CEC-less adapter and try that out.

With the CEC-less adapter everything works fine.
